Anyone HAVE Dawson sights?

Recommended Posts

I just put Dawson front and rear on my M&P core. They are great. The come oversized so you fit them, took me about a half hour to install. I went with them because they are the only sights made for the core, I bought the standard hight as I don't use a red dot. I like the sight picture and shoot better with them.

I have them on my STI Trojan and my Glock G34.  I have the thinnest front post they make.  On the Trojan I have adjustable all black, while on the Glock I have the adjustable black with green fiber optics dots on either side of the notch.  Love them!!!

I have them on my m+p 22, anything was better than the stock sights.

This..   i have them on my MP22 as well..  i do like them.  green in rear, red in front.  easy to install myself..  stock sights were absolute crap, so its a big step up.. and when shooting outside, they are really bright..

It is all down to how the fiber was fitted. You use heat to shrink the fiber into the ends of the sight. If you use too much it puts the fiber under too much tension and they are more likely to break.

I have a set on my glock 35 and I didn't change the fiber for over a year and more than 6000 rounds. I finally replaced it because it was getting cloudy from solvent and wasn't as bright as it used to be.

Dawson send you spare pieces of fiber with the sight in red and green too. They also include a punch for seating it.

The other thing I really like about Dawson is their guarantee that the sights will zero if your buy front and rear together. I used that for my XD and they honored it with no arguments whatsoever.

Same here, except on my M&P40 Pro (5-inch) and Compact. Quality sights, and they were the only ones I found that had the correct front height for the longer slide. I tried to get the same trigger and sights for the pistols, and is 100%.

Side note, I'm not impressed with Heinie's sights. I just installed them on my Ruger SR1911. The rear needed fitting, as well as the front, but when pushing the front on, the blade popped off due to the slide interference under the dot (base was fitted correctly; pushed from the base, not the blade). Emailed them, and was told that it was due to improper fitting. Sorry, but never had to fit the bottom of the sight blade, nor do I want to sand down under the night sight. The Dawson sights took more fitting, yet I never had to touch anything other than the base. Sending the slide in for them to do it, with about a $50 charge for a replacement sight and $15 to install. Being there are not a lot of options for the SR1911, this will be my only set of Heinie sights... subject to change if they look at it and change their mind.
