maintenanceguy 510 Posted November 20, 2014 Russia more free than NJ. Amazing. http://rt.com/news/206703-russia-guns-self-defense/
Vlad G 345 Posted November 20, 2014 Remember, it is Russia, and RT is the official mouth piece. Don't buy everything they say. I may be wrong, but right now my bet is that you will need to be connected to be allowed to carry a gun.
dman2112 6 Posted November 20, 2014 I thought all the commies from Russia moved to New Jerky a long time ago?

revenger 473 Posted November 20, 2014 I have been to Russia several times (2005, 2006) and was amazed on how many people I saw carrying guns. where I was it seemed as if open carry was the norm. My translator was stunned that we could not. I explained that in NJ it was much like his country 7 decades ago.
bhunted 887 Posted November 20, 2014 No doubt portions of our country is fubar.... NJ is the worse. We cannot carry or use to protected ourselves... - Sling Shots - Tazers - Brass Knuckles - Pea Shooters - Bows and Arrows unless hunting or target - OC Spray that contains the same Amounts and Grade as LE versions. (I could fart easier and wipe someone out)... - Cannot have ASP Batons unless qualified - Cannot carry anything that will be used as a weapon. (In other words, Baseball Bats are ok as long as you carry them to and from a ball field, {sarcasm})... - Bee Bee Guns because old fuds think we'll shoot eyes out. - Less than lethal weapons - Knives under a certain length and must have reason to carry. - Rifles, to and from range. Cannot hunt, (with certain calibers)... or carry for self defense... - No Billy Clubs, Slap Sticks or similar - No Handguns unless you are on the job, work in an industry that it's required or blow politicians for favors. - No shotguns.... - No machine guns - Shoot a side by side Shotgun from Balcony to scare off intruders... (Because Uncle Joe said so)... **** NOT A FOOKING THING to protect ourselves in any way. Maybe you didn't realize all the stuff I listed above, but maybe it draws a persepctive of how we are doomed as a state when it comes to self preservation outside the home. What we can do.... - Blow a whistle - Yell EEEK! - Twiddle thumbs - Wet our pants - Puke on attacker - Scream - Jump up and down yelling UgaBooga! - Kick - Shet our pants - Play dead - Hope we can scare attacker with war face ----- DIE! Maybe time to move to Russia....
Vlad G 345 Posted November 20, 2014 We cannot carry... Sure you can .. you are just not allowed to. There is a vast difference.

Carry was almost completely forbidden in Russia prior to this. But gas guns are legal and widely carried. Some people played with loopholes on their shotguns or hunting guns but would have gone to jail if a bribe was not accepted. Plus a lot of people carried illegally, but I wouldn't expect that to be open carry. Where in Russia? That might be the key.
revenger 473 Posted November 21, 2014 The politics in Russia seemed to be very much like that of NJ, Almost all of my actions there required an "official gift" ( bribe ) being given to whoever was the decision maker. These "official gifts" were brand new uncirculated consecutive serial number U.S. 100 dollar bills that I had to order from my bank prior to going over there. apparently there is a big counterfeiting problem there. They opened doors there much like an EZ pass on a turnpike toll. Most of the time was spent in the Kursk region and Moscow.
mikka1 2 Posted November 25, 2014 I have been to Russia several times (2005, 2006) and was amazed on how many people I saw carrying guns. where I was it seemed as if open carry was the norm. My translator was stunned that we could not. I explained that in NJ it was much like his country 7 decades ago. C'mon, this is straight BS. I am Russian (if someone has not yet figured this) and visit Russia 3-4 times a year for prolonged periods of time. Ministry of Interior has already issued a statement that the way news agencies reported those changes is... well... a little misinforming (not surprising really with the way how many journalists work these days). In essence, there is still no "real" handguns allowed for carry and even purchase unless you are on the job and/or has a special permission (and I know quite a few pretty rich and relatively connected people and to my best knowledge none of them had a "real" handgun, at least a legal one, LOL). The only types of handguns that were and still are allowed in Russia are so called "traumatic" handguns chambered for rubber bullets and "gas handguns" that are basically sophisticated spraying devices - and even to get those you need to undergo a procedure that from the efforts point of view is pretty similar to obtaining FID in NJ (maybe even more complicated). So, bottom line, no sensation, even NJ gun laws are still better than Russian ones )
