Good 1911 gunsmith North Jersey

Recommended Posts

I have a fusion 1911 and the assembly of the upper needs more work than I can do to fit the barrel, bushing, etc.  Is there anyone in norther NJ or reasonably close to that area someone would recommend?  I'd like to get it coated as well.

Thanks.

Alchemy Custom in IL

Jim Garthwaite in PA

Business End Customs in MA

I have used Alchemy. Fast, efficient and amazing work. No one in NJ I would recommend for the work, honestly.

Good luck.

Edit to add: Since it's a top end, it can just hit the mail. That's a beautiful thing.

Last good 1911 gunsmith in NJ was the late Austin Behlert and he moved his shop to PA. That was many moons ago.

Go with the guys Topher recommends. I checked with Garthwaite a few months ago and he is not taking on any new work. Things may have changed. Alchemy is great if they are taking on new projects. I have had stuff done by both outfits and very satisfied all around.

Also, look at Gary Natale of Gans Guns in PA. He is a 1911 specialist and his turnaround times are great if he is taking on new work.

Don't want to say anything bad but had no love for Austin Behlert.

Ok, that's fine but more detail is necessary.

Pics of your Fusion are mandatory when it comes back.

Yes, I agree, the generic "bad" is not something I react to.  Absolutely will post up the pics when it's done.
