Norseman 2 Posted December 30, 2014 Its all wear items. I know some people think of firearms as heirlooms, but if you shoot enough you'll wear them out and break them. Buy whatever you want, shoot it until it breaks, and then you'll know more about what you want for your next rifle. You are not choosing your heart surgeon This is true for rifles and optics, although some optics you can look at and immediately know they have a drinking problem an their hands are shacking so don't let them near the scalpel. LOL that about sums it up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sandy 44 Posted December 31, 2014 Have to say , for product review purposes from the land of cheap optics- I did not like the floating red chevron on Pete's Bushnell. Could just be my eyes. Did not get to ask him yet if he was happy with it . I did just fine with the Vortex Strikefire red dot , which I believe can be had for around 200 or so? Granted it was only at a 50 yard indoor range , but the dot was easy on the eyes , and pretty accurate as I was sighting it in.Take that all with a grain of salt , it is my first go with optics. My other two rifles( Marlin lever action and a Mini 14) have iron sights and I do fine with them .
irishpete 2 Posted December 31, 2014 Once I turned the intensity way down on the optic, I was pretty happy with it.However, this was a first time shooting my stag 3 with the optic so time will tell.
