BlueLineFish 615 Posted December 9, 2014 Well i really want an mka 1919. As we know they are not NJ compliant because of the pistol grip. I have an idea and was wondering if any ffl would do it. Add an ar15 spur and permanantly affix it to the receiver in place of the pistol grip. http://ar15spur.com/
younggun93 5 Posted December 9, 2014 the fact that the spur exists really makes me loose faith in humanity
SuperSixOne 4 Posted December 9, 2014 That or the hammerhead stock that separates the stock from the buffer tube. (I think that is a bit more functional than a spur, especially on a shotgun.)
fishnut 2,358 Posted December 9, 2014 Im no FFL but I would guess that would be legal. I think you would have more of a problem finding an FFL comfortable with doing it.
Vlad G 345 Posted December 9, 2014 And then you have a borderline unshootable shotgun.
fishnut 2,358 Posted December 9, 2014 And then you have a borderline unshootable shotgun. You assume that he plans on shooting it . BLF-that's for trying to butt into my WTB S&W 649 thread LOL
RecessedFilter 222 Posted December 10, 2014 How the heck do you even hold that thing? Like a pistol grip but your middle, ring, and pinky finger sit in outer space below the trigger guard? I don't get it.

RecessedFilter 222 Posted December 10, 2014 I understand the main reason it was made, but it just seems so uncomfortable. Your basically holding the rifle with your palm, thumb, and index finger? It seems like it would be difficult to stabilize that area of the rifle with that hand.
BlueLineFish 615 Posted December 10, 2014 It would seem you really have to pull back into your shoulder with your weak hand andnget a good forward stance going. Just need an ffl who would be comfortable with that transfer. The shotgun is about 400 new and the spur is cheap. They have good reviews and are pretty reliable. My other option is to buy one in pennsy and do the swap there before i come back to NJ
Tack Tickle 0 Posted December 10, 2014 That kinda looks like an accident waiting to happen... Just sayin.

They are not supposed to sell you a gun illegal in your state of residence. I know you are not trying to break the law, but that's pretty much the identical problem you have with a Jersey FFL. "It's OK, please change the grip for me or I will to make it legal." Except the Jersey FFL might have a greater chance of catching it or be more paranoid about it. BlueLineFish 615 Posted December 13, 2014 I always could just leave it in PA or fix it before i get back into NJ. That's my responsibility

That's my responsibility The FFL has his own responsibility not to sell you a gun illegal in your state of residence. He won't sell you an AR with a threaded barrel and flash hider.
