JimB1 554 Posted December 10, 2014 Slowly putting my reloading bench together. Two days ago they had the Hornady Lock and Load Ultrasonic 2L for a crazy low price of $19 ($119 regularly) so I grabbed one. It's back ordered until the end of January but what the heck, for that price I can wait a bit. Along with it I ordered a digital scale and a few other things so I got free shipping too! Today they have a $20 off a $100 purchase plus free shipping so I ordered a Lee Classic Turret Press and the Lee 4 piece die set in 45 acp plus a few things for my wife for x-mas and the press came out to $96. Their price on the dies was a little high but free shipping made up for it. I found them cheaper elsewhere but when taking shipping into account they actually came out more expensive to order from the cheaper place. I figure I am going to use it similar to a single press for a little bit anyway so I can look for deals on the auto powder adapter and I may just keep using the hand primer tool for now. Should be way better ( and quieter ) then the Lee Loader I am using now. There are some good deals to be had out there if you have patience -Jim
carl_g 568 Posted December 11, 2014 Congrats on the LCT purchase. I have had one for a couple of years now and it is great! I load 9mm, 45ACP, .223/5.56, and soon 300 blackout without any issues. Good luck with it.
A-Tech 8 Posted December 11, 2014 I know a lot of people that are traditionally snobby about having Dillon presses. Don't get me wrong, they are fantastic pieces of equipment, but they come with a heft price tag. I've been using a Lee Pro 1000 for about 3yrs now and I have it set up with everything except a bullet collator (I manually fill tubes of bullets) and I love my setup. I can crank out 300+/hr without a single hiccup. My ONLY complaint is that I wish it had 5 stations so I could add a stand alone crimping die. Lee makes reloading affordable to everyone and with great quality and customer service. JimB1 554 Posted December 11, 2014 Right now I am only doing 45 acp and am still very much a beginner at reloading so I don't need anything too complicated. I have been reading reviews and watching videos for the last year and everyone, even guys that aren't Lee guys seems to think the classic turret is a good machine at a great price so I've been price watching for a while. I had to check out the Dillon too but at this point a premium priced progressive is probably a bit overkill. I'm only looking at doing maybe 50 - 100 reloads a month so even a single stage would be fine but I figure the turret gives me some options the single stage doesn't. I couldn't resist the price on the Hornady ultra sonic cleaner. I'm hand cleaning the few reloads I am doing now so I have been looking for a cleaner and almost went with the Lyman one that was on sale, glad I waited on it... JayWilling 33 Posted December 11, 2014 I have been reloading for about 7 years on a Lee Classic Turret and I have no plans of moving up. I have no problems with my ammo because every round is examined.
Vlad G 345 Posted December 11, 2014 As someone who does most of his reloading on a blue press, I do own a older Lee turret press for doing brass prep, bullet pulling, etc. I actually bought it used after I already had my Dillon, because they do work and they do a job that doesn't need to be served by a more expensive better press. So, yeah they work fine for what they are and even if you buy a better press later, it will still serve a purpose.

JimB1 554 Posted February 3, 2015 Did you say 19.00 for a ultrasonic cleaner? If so can you link please please pleases. ... It was a one day sale thing for the holidays. I got it a lot sooner then they were originally saying. Used it last night on 100 45 acp cases. Does a nice job. 20 minutes to clean once fired brass. I checked Cabalas web site and I only saw the 1l and the 8L so I guess they are still filing orders for the massive amount they sold in that one day sale. Originally they sent me an email saying I wouldn't get mine until May but then it just showed up a few weeks ago. -Jim
