Rob0115 1,105 Posted January 4, 2015 I was poking around the Wilson Combat website order some parts for an AR I am assembling and started reading about their brigadier platform M9. It's built by Beretta with Wilson parts and all the parts they used are available on the website for ordering. I google'd around for some reviews and they were overwhelmingly positive on the gun, the upgrade it at home and the send it in to Wilson version. The latter seems to be the best product of the three, IMHO. Wilson has partnered with Langdon (I'm sure everyone knows this) and when you send your M9/92 platform they completely strip it down, media blast off the finish, fit all the parts and reassemble with your choice of stock and wilson parts. They also do a lot of coatings for the upper and lower. After researching and speaking with WC (side note their customer service on this and my AR orders have been nothing short of excellent) I've decided to send my 92FS in for the works. I've had the gun for a while and really enjoy it quite a bit, but after reading the before and after I found myself really wanted to upgrade this pistol. My experience with WC 1911s has been excellent so I am hoping for a similar outcome on a 9mm that I really, really enjoy shooting. The turn around time is 3-4 months after they receive it. When I get it back I'll give an update and my best crack at a range report. If anyone has already done this, has any insight or knows someone who has done this, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks. EWC88 24 Posted January 6, 2015 Can't wait to see your final product and thoughts about it. How much did this cost you?
Rob0115 1,105 Posted January 6, 2015 I don't know the final cost yet but I've been told to expect about $850.
areacode201 4 Posted January 9, 2015 I don't know the final cost yet but I've been told to expect about $850. Ouch. Could buy another 92 for that! I'm interested to see the results though, I hope you're happy with them.
Rob0115 1,105 Posted January 10, 2015 It was actually more but I'm hoping it won't be comparable to a standard 92. The gun will be taken down to bare metal, completely refit, refinished with fine parts and re-coated. Probably a complete waste of money but the reviews have been great. I'm gettin screwey in my old age.
