Need to order a few more parts for my first build

Recommended Posts

Staking requires a $10 tool from Home Depot and 5 minutes of your time. It's really a no brainer

Or a $6 tool from Amazon (that they sent me 2 of... anyone want one?)

I ended up tightening by feel & staking.

I also put that picatinny rail attachment up front (offset) b/c, from when I handled it, that feels like the perfect place I want to index my support hand.

Oh that looks pretty awesome lol.  never knew that type of tool existed

so you basically jab that springloaded center punch to the corner of the castle nut and it's strong enough to stake it?

I've never staked the castle nut as... surprisingly it hasn't come loose even after hundreds of rounds

Its going to take a few jabs to get the metal to move, but it will work.

Thanks. Shoots great as well! The ACT trigger is great. Love how everything turned out. I "think" I was able to zero the Bushnell red dot as best I can. Went for a 50 yard zero at GFH this morning sitting with a bench rest. I'll go back when the ammo I ordered comes in.

Good placement on the optic. 50 yards is a good zero. Your impact points will be within an inch to inch and 1/2 at 50 yards and 200 yards with a 55 grain bullet.

Here is a good article showing the charts with a 50 yard zero...
