Removing the bayo lug

Recommended Posts

I've used birchwood casey's super blue liquid. There are many other product out there including those in cream form that may be better. Brownells has a big selection of products. The same thing would be good to touch up a scratch in steel parts. For aluminum, you would have to get a product designed for it, most likely it will be a type of paint then anything that would chemically bind to the metal as in blueing chemicals do with steel.

Leave small scratches alone. Any touch up will likely look worse than the scratch. Besides, chicks dig scars

The metal where you cut the bayo lug off needs to be covered so it doesn't rust. Any high-temp paint will do. I used black barbecue paint I bought from Lowes after hitting it with a Birchwood Casey Blueing Pen.

You could send it our to be me limited, nitrided, parkerized, etcetera.... But that gets crazy.
