Stock options for a 10/22

Recommended Posts

I built a PWS T3 action for myself as a new silent critter slayer. It's in a B&C stock that weighs 2.6lbs. While it's super stiff, it's a little heavy. I have a couple other 10/22s, mostly in the factory wood stocks but one in a Hogue overmold. The Hogue is .7lbs lighter than the B&C but not as stiff. My goal is to lighten the rifle (I'll be walking around with it) but not be as flimsy as the Hogue. Any suggestions? Obligatory picture of said rifle:

I wound up with a stock walnut stock and a threaded barrel in standard diameter. I. Ant have a can (duh) but put a linear comp on it. Its light, handy, and accurate. Heavy barrels and fancy stocks are cool for "bench work" but standard sized components are MUCH nicer for walking around.

I can post a pic tonite when I get home.

I got a Viperskins Titan 10/22 stock when they came out a few months ago. I like the feel of it but cant give a range report since I have minimal trigger time behind it. Here is a link.

I also installed a Volquartsen Ultralite carbon fiber barrel that increased my accuracy a bit and lightened up the rifle alot.

What is that funky charging handle?  Is it a Picitinny rail?   Nevermind... too far back to be a charging handle.   But where the heck IS the charging handle?  :)

This build has a Beyer 7075 AL barrel so it weighs about 1lb even though it's a bull barrel so the weight penalty is pretty minimal.  I might spring for a Boyd's Tacticool.  I heard it's supposed to be crazy light but require some measure of fitting.

Let me know if you need a Boyds Tacticool stock in black. I have a used one I would sell you since I replaced it with the Titan. Oh, The weight of the Titan is 3.1 pounds.

Here is some info on the Titan...
