nitrospaz9 10 Posted February 7, 2015 I've wanted the rifle of infidels for a long time lol. I also want an AR eventually. But picked this up for about $500. Now I gotta change all the hardware when the cash is right.

Krdshrk 3,872 Posted February 7, 2015 Great price. What caliber?
nitrospaz9 10 Posted February 7, 2015 7.62. I felt that was the true caliber for the weapon. Can't wait to shoot it now

ogfarmer 138 Posted February 8, 2015 You will love it. I have a new krebs custom upgraded safety selector in the marketplace. It's got bolt hold open feature and finger tab for easy manipulation.

EWC88 24 Posted February 9, 2015 Very nice and very nice price! I need to find one that cheap!
Old Glock guy 1,125 Posted February 9, 2015 Very nice! I picked one up awhile back for around that price, but that was before the ban. Mine is in 7.62 as well, partly for the reason you note, and partly because the ammo is so cheap, relative to everything else. As an aside, has anyone here just replaced the stock and fore end with wood furniture, to give it a more authentic look? I really don't want to go through the hassle of moving the trigger group forward, and adding a pistol grip and bullet guide. Seems like the wood would go a long way toward giving it a better look with minimal effort.
carl_g 568 Posted February 9, 2015 The stock trigger kind of sucks.. it's worth it to move the group up and add a pistol grip for the better trigger IMO.

Still undecided whether or not I wanna make it look classic or go full tactical
dman2112 6 Posted February 10, 2015 Conversion time!
Worn_Holster 2 Posted February 10, 2015 My half conversion was very easy. I used a Tapco G2 Trigger which turned out great! Congrats on your new Saiga. A machinist at work put the slots in the stock front grip which makes a big difference in removing barrel heat from under the front grip. BTW, I picked up my Saiga new in 2001 for only $175! Saiga eye candy...
nitrospaz9 10 Posted February 11, 2015 Wow I like the slots up there. It's definitely getting the pistol grip.

DeerSlayer 241 Posted February 12, 2015 Who has one of these in 12g jersey legal stock for sale? I'm in the market.
Old Glock guy 1,125 Posted February 12, 2015 This was my NJ compliant sporterized after I pounced on it Looks great! I'm really going to need to do something like that with mine. Which wood furniture did you use?
dman2112 6 Posted February 12, 2015 I got bare walnut furniture from an outfit called Ironwood Designs out of CA. I used a red, brown, and a small amount of yellow wood dye dissolved in denatured alcohol as a stain to try and get a classic look. I then top coated with 4 coats of clear varnish cut down with denatured alcohol. It came out great. Very little fitting was needed. Only a little with the upper hand guard. dman2112 6 Posted February 12, 2015 Oh and I had to grind down the shitty stand offs that hold the factory hand guard on so I ended up duracoating the barreled receiver a very flat tactical black. It actually gave it an old look
