dajonga 396 Posted March 8, 2015 I have a similar debate going on. I have some inheritance from my grandmother that just cleared. Not change my life money, but enough to buy a couple toys. I put in for 6 permits last week. Not that I am gonna buy 6 pistols...maybe. I am thinking of a good 9mm home defense gun with a light. Then, maybe a nice 1911. Then maybe a Ruger Vaquero to satisfy the cowboy in me. And then I am thinking of something a bit different.... A matching pair of SASS Ruger Vaqueros in .357 magnum, one for each of my sons. Then possibly getting them engraved with each boys initials on the backstrap...nothing gaudy, just the 3 initials. Thinking they will fall in love with the simplicity of shooting my Vaquero over the years, when they get "pistol legal" at 21, gift them their own Ruger. If they are not interested, I get to keep the guns. Win win.
