AR15 crosshair scope

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for an AR-15 scope that doesn't reply on batteries. Not a sniper scope, but a short/small scope that has a permanent dot or a crosshair. This is my first ar15 and I can't find anything online. Any recommendations?

Don't know if it's in your price range but the trijicon reflex sights come to mind. https://www.trijicon.com/na_en/products/product1.php?id=Reflex

Otherwise just use irons? Why are you against batteries?

I'm not against batteries. I just purchased the UTG red dot scope. But I was just wondering if there anything of such available. I used my friends helographic sights before and it was a little fuzzy. Maybe because it was cheap stuff. $500 is way too much for me. I was looking for $50-$150.

Here is a hint, if your scope has "rails" on it is is probably garbage. If you are looking at spending less then $150 on a optic, the only thing I would recommend is one of the PA micros's:  https://www.primaryarms.com/category_s/5695.htm

Yes they use batteries but the cheap PA micro's are less the $100 and for $50 you can buy a lifetime supply of CR 2032's (and they are lithium so they last a LONG time). If you buy their new $170 red dot with the 50k hour battery life odds are you will never have to buy a second battery.

You can NOT purchase a quality scope for $150 unless you end up with some awesome deal on a used one. Don't even try, you will end up with garbage and you might as well give me your money and I'll stand behind you yelling BANG while you hold the rifle and telling you what a great shot that was. That way you will save on ammo as well.

Perhaps the Primary Arms 1-4x. Its a simple duplex crosshair/dot hybrid that may give you the simplicity you desire at the price point you want. Although its 1-4x, you can leave it at 1x (no magnification) if thats what you generally prefer. Then wick it up to 4x on occasion if you find yourself at any long range. Its also illuminated but thats optional and you never have to turn it on or have it on for the scope to function with the basic black etched reticle.
