Extend permit

I have a pistol permit and want to extend it. What is the process? I have about 10 days left. Do I wait to the last day or do it now?

go to your police station  the chief has to extend, depends on town, mine took 2 days

At the discretion of the CLEO of the issuing agency. Some want it done before the initial 90 days are up, some want to wait until after. Regardless of when it is extended the extension is only good for 180 days from the original date of issuance. Call your local PD and find out what their procedure is - in my municipality, it's a rubber stamp done while you wait.
