NY/NJ Legislators introduce bill to pick up where the ATF left off

Recommended Posts

Rep. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.) introduced the Armor Piercing Bullets Act, which he said would ban the sale of “.223-dervied, 5.56x45mm NATO ‘green tip’ rounds”.

Other Democrats supporting Engel’s bill are Reps. Yvette Clarke (N.Y.), Carolyn Maloney (N.Y.), and Bonnie Watson Coleman (N.J.).

Can't say I'm surprised by this bill or by the states the reps are from. I also wouldn't be surprised to see state legislation if this scheme doesn't work.

Not going anywhere nationally, specially after majorities in house and senate signed WTF letter.

People are paying over $1 per round on GunBroker...

It's those idiots that hurt the supply and drive the panic, same with 22lr.

I feel 99% confident nothing will change and M855 will be legal for years to come, if I'm wrong I can still get cheap brass or steel case FMJ.

The reason NJ / NY tries this is, there is virtually no resistance and no consequences for politicians.  This nonsense will stop (may be) when atleast 1000 strong 2A proponents show up in Trenton every month without fail in peaceful protest and demand more positive action in favor of 2A.  Dems like crowd.

It may not happen on a national level, but it will as sure as shit happen in NJ once Christie is gone. No one can stop the Democratic "machine" in this state. The lemmings vote for it regardless of the facts or statistics.

But wait, I can get M855 with a steel core and no green tip.

If you load your own and buy loose bullets they do not have the green tip since Lake City only does that after the round is loaded (last step).

Are cops going to carry magnets and check every round?

I'm pretty sure some M855 would stop them...  (I keed I keed...)

She’s a complete libtard and her two sons were stick-up artists. So now the solution is disarm honest citizens, this makes perfect sense. Way to go NJ voters, thanks for voting in another clueless idiot.

She also passed legislation that prohibits companies from asking if you have a criminal record until AFTER they are hired. This was because her two darlings would never be able to get jobs. Unless you count the job her son got with the Mercer County Parks Commission. No coincidences there......

True, But...not everyone with a criminal record is a bad person. Anymore the vast majority of crimes are considered "felonies".

She is a flake, the job with MCPC is far from a coincidence, that's being politically connected...you know she had say in his employment.

Welcome to NJ, most corrupt state in the nation.

The dems are the handout party. It's no coincidence they're able to get big crowds. Most people cannot be in Trenton at 11 am on a Tuesday unless they're unemployed, self-employed, etc. Or in the case of dem supporters, on the government teet.

While I agree with you in general, I have to disagree on inability to show up in Trenton on Tuesday 11am.  Its about priorities and what one is willing up give up in return. I am sure there are folks who is struggling to make ends meet. But for others, its about priorities.

Newtonian already, more than once, posted a road map to stop this nonsense. Nothing will change for the better until it becomes toxic for any politician to utter the words "reasonable gun control laws" even in their sleep.

Until we get serious about it, we can either plan our escape or engage on masturbatory exercises here at NJGF.

Loosing a day of work/pay for a good cause is a small inconvenience, no excuse for lack of support just laziness.

I went to Trenton once when the government wanted to restrict magazine capacity. All it did was make me realize that NJ is a lost cause, which gave me that final push over the state line. It was a pretty hard push also, which put me deep into free america. Good luck with your endeavors.

So you visited the State Zoo? :D

That's exactly what it is, a Zoo.

NJ isn't a lost cause (yet).

I've been to Trenton and would gladly take a day off from work to do it again, but the way to get those cockroaches to really listen is to vote some of them out. That is where we fail as a community of gun owners. Too many keep voting for the letter in front of a name instead of the better candidate...
