Lspooner 0 Posted March 17, 2015 How do I know if a gun I'm buying online is NJ Compliant? I am currently in the market for a H and K, VP9. I found one at Budsgunshop.com for what I think is a good price of $597. I'm sure it's NJ complaint. But what if I was buying something that I wasn't so sure about. It's not up to the vendor to tell me. Is there a way to find out or is this just one of the negatives to buying online. Thanks.
ogfarmer 138 Posted March 17, 2015 vp9 is nj legal out the box as long as mag is 15 or less
AverageJoe 95 Posted March 17, 2015 You look at the specs on how the gun comes. Any questions on anything you're unsure of, you can ask the seller...i.e. "how many round magazine does it come with?" (if its not listed)... Don't ask if its NJ compliant cause they might not know. Or you can also get the model # and look it up on the manufact site specs. ogfarmer 138 Posted March 17, 2015 most ar, ak rifles need compliance work done AR- remove flashider and replace with brake and pin it, grind bayo lugg, pin stock and remove high cap mags or modify them. AK - need bayo lug ground and brake pinned, high cap mags either removed or modified
dwamp2006 1 Posted March 17, 2015 if the site doesn't lost the specs, they usually have the manufacturer code which you reference on the manufacturers site.
jackandjill 683 Posted March 17, 2015 1. Ask in these forums - you are already doing it 2. Talk to your local (NJ) FFL before you order. Give him/her a link to site and they are usually good with it 3. Ask one of this Forum FFLs if they can match the price or order it for you. They know their stuff

ogfarmer 138 Posted March 17, 2015 Is the SKS legal in NJ? Yes as long as it doesn't have a detachable mag, those are on banned list. Must have fixed stock 10rd mag.

n4p226r 105 Posted March 18, 2015 The best solution would be to read the laws and know them so you aren't taking advice from us idiots
