Kimber45 3 Posted March 31, 2015 Thanks everyone for the great comments... all the work was done by me excypt for the cerakote job. That was done by Mike at Tier One Defense in Mountianside.. he did a great job... thanks Mike... as far as everything else thats yours truly... it started out as a single stack Npap. I did the double stack mag well (thanks deerslayer for the rental mag.) Cut down the barrel to 14 inches slid the sight block back after modifying it to press fit and re pin. Also cut down the cleaning rod to match the barrel length.smoothed out the lines on the gas block to match the front sight block. Cut and modded the front sight post to eliminate the double angles.tune and polish FCG, bolt and all internals. Installed a krebs FCG pin retainer and a krebs stock block. I pinned and welded a Lantac Dragon brake to bring it back up to 16 inches and a Manticore triangle stock.I added a Ultimak M9 upper gas tube with pic rail. Thats a US Palm grip that was enhanced buy stippling the untextured areas of the grip to match the stippled lower handguard.all in all I think it came out well for my first venture into the ak world... I think I will keep her... again many thanks to Deerslayer,Checko and anyone else that helped me out with my project.... stay safe all

emulzhn 5 Posted March 31, 2015 That AK sure is purdy.... I really like the Lantac Dragon but at $125 a pop.. and with all the work you put into it... it brings it easily to Arsenal range.. But I'm drooling... thanks for sharing...
tennturk 9 Posted April 1, 2015 What lower handgaurd is that?
Kimber45 3 Posted April 1, 2015 Yeah I know the Arsenals are nice but I got a good deal with the Npap.... I was just going to open up the mag well and well you see what happined....haha.... as far as the handguards the upper is a Ultimak m9 and the lower is the standard Npap that I swapped out my wood with Checko. Than I did the stippling myself. I also stippled the front and back of the US Palm to match... If you want me to do yours send me a pm... I work for beer lol..... emulzhn 5 Posted April 6, 2015 Nice good hunting bro........ thats a nice rifle. I did t knkw about them until after I got my Npap and started to research them... then their were non to be found..... I was set on the SLR107FR, but with the folding stock and the bayonet lugs, I was bothered to spend over $900 only to neuter some of its personality... But as I looked on, I found that although the Arsenals were attractive, they were also plentiful. not saying the paps aren't attractive but I felt better as there was less compliance work, hopefully retaining their value... and from the looks of it... the "O's" are becoming harder to find, possibly increasing their value over time.. Ahhhhh,.... the irony of living in our state...
