That's exactly the reason why I have no interest in buying a single stack/pocket pistol. What's the use when living in NJ?

If you live in NJ with no planned escape why are you worried about concealability?

 

Actually, in NJ, this is doubly important.  Seeing as we're effectively a "no carry" state, and a situation arises where you need to carry, you would want the most concealable thing you can get that you can reliably use.

 

In a state like PA, you can strap a Glock 19 and probably print all day and few folks or police would give you a hard time about it.  Here?  You're caught your done.

 

Not that I intend to do so, but then again, having the capability and not needing it rather than needing it and not having it is one of the many reasons why we're all here, aren't we?

No doubt, especially if you have the UT/FL CCW. I personally do not (maybe in the future), but hey different strokes for different folks

UPDATE: I ended up with a Sig Sauer P290RS.   Bought it lightly used from a forum member at a great price.

 

It's DAO, 9mm, holds 6 rounds, and weighs about 20oz unloaded.  Trigger is buttery smooth and very accurate.  I went with this because the build quality is superb, the DAO offers a measure of safety when carrying concealed, and its friggin small.  VERY SMALL.

 

Took it out today, and was able to rapid fire and hold great groups out to 7-10 yards.

Yes, great points!  To be "well-rounded" there are categories of tools one should attempt to fill.  Having a small concealable handgun of a decent caliber is one of those things (and being able to practice with it while it is still legal).  And, if you ever find yourself in a state you can carry in, then you are all set.
