emulzhn 5 Posted April 29, 2015 Planning to purchase ... but does anyone know if the receivers are actually marked "ak74"... or anything that will make them illegal in NJ. https://www.classicfirearms.com/ak74-rifle-bulgarian-us-parts At this price, they seem very hard to beat. just wondering if anyone knows.... aside from the bayonet lugs being neutered and MD pinned and weld, the rifle should be legal... only thing killing it is the "AK74" that may be stamped on the receiver... thanks all.. Polak 3 Posted April 29, 2015 I thought AK47 on the receiver was banned not AK74

JT Custom Guns 956 Posted April 29, 2015 a few points for all to consider as follows: 1) The receiver can not be stamped "AK" - it does not matter if it's a 47 or a 74 - its the "AK" part that is banned - period! 2) The rifle listed has the following "Evil Features: Threaded bbl Bayonet lug Hi-Cap mags Pistol Grip The first three will need to be modified by your transferring FFL prior to delivery to you Lastly - the WaffenWerks rifle listed above is stamped "AK-74" so by name it is banned in NJ - Sorry! NJSUX 2 Posted May 1, 2015 What is the legalities on the kits above?
tennturk 9 Posted May 4, 2015 Kits are completely legal as long as you assemble them onto a registered receiver like a Childer's or NoDak. It's illegal to bend flats and create your own receiver in NJ. Just make sure you take care of the proper evil feature upon assembly just like you would an AR. The build process is completely different then that of an AR though. You'll need the proper tools, rivet jigs, shop press, etc. It's extremely addictive and way more fun than any other gun/rifle I've assembled.
DirtyDigz 1,811 Posted May 4, 2015 ...It's illegal to bend flats and create your own receiver in NJ. ... It is NOT illegal, however, to bend your flats in another state and then bring the completed receiver into NJ to complete assembly of the rifle (as long as the assembled rifle is NJ legal).
