Trenton Mercer Co Airport - Flying w/Firearm

I've flown from Newark countless times so I know the set up there.  On Tuesday night I am flying from Trenton and have never done so.  I will be traveling to a free state and will be checking in a pistol.  Having never been there, is the setup similar to Newark just mush more scaled down or is it something totally different?  Can I check it in at the ticket counter as in EWR or do I have to go somewhere else?

 

Just trying to save headaches and time.

Just go on Frontier's website and follow the instructions. It has been a long time since I flew out of Mercer - not sure if the TSA now handles security, but last time I flew out of there, it was the Mercer County Sheriff's Department.

I flew Frontier out of TTN once and it was easy peasy. Just declare at the counter when checking in, fill out the form and put in the bag. Didn't have to go to TSA like EWR, do it just like every other airport I've flown out of.

Just checked my bag and the girl at the counter didn't even batt an eye. Handed me a red tag, asked me to sign and place the tag on the case in my suitcase. Done. Couldn't be easier.
