New Jersey Rep Takes Her Phobias To D.C.

Recommended Posts

This is not a phobia, it's an agenda bought and paid for. Unfortunately something like this will sell to a whole lot of people. Non shooting, hunting public will think .....really why do they need so much ammo they must be up to something. JMOP.

Hey Magnawing, just saw you over at the Italian named forum. Regarding our state rep, I wish I could be so optimistic as some of the above, but never underestimate the gullibility of low intelligence voters or the deviousness of our elected officials. Just take a look at where we are now.

I'm well aware of the State of the Republik up there in PRNJ. I escaped to Texas in January after spending the last 21 years as a prisoner in the Gulag of Jerseystan. I'm loving my FREEDOM here in America.

This is my signature. There are many like it but this one is mine.

This kind of reminds me when some politician from NY said that if you are buying a lot of nails you should get reported to the police.

" Anyone seeing anyone buying components, any type of BBs or ball bearings -- a large amount of nails, even -- report that to police,"

That libtard is nothing but a big headed fool. Thinks he is more important than he is.

After Gabby Giffords was shot, this idiot wanted to pass a law that said no one could carry a firearm within 1000 ft of them. What a dope.

This is not a phobia, it's an agenda bought and paid for.

I would say that both are in play. There is certainly a national progressive agenda to remove firearms from the control of the civilian population, and to use any and all tactics available to do it. E.G. Never let a crisis go to waste. Big steps, or little steps, but keep the agenda moving in the direction of banishment and confiscation.

But, there are also swarms of people who are truly hoplophobic, and they are the tools of the agenda people. When you talk to one of the Million Moms, or Everytown, or Sandy Hook people their emotional irrationality and fear is on full display. Reality and logic don't really participate in their thought processes. E.G. "It's common sense. That's all I need to know."

Example: I have a long time acquaintance from high school in the 60's. He was a Goldwater supporter originally. He is today a respected physician in his field who has been simmering in the Princeton area liberal stew for the last thirty years. Now, this self described "gun hating liberal" actually told me "I wouldn't trust myself with a gun". I was so flabbergasted I really didn't know what to say, especially since this came from the mouth of a long time 'friend'. So I just let it drop. This is a man of obvious intelligence, who allows himself to be guided by fear and irrationality on this topic. Indeed he now promotes and believes it.

If the chance arises in the future, I'm going to ask him if he trusts himself with his car and cellphone. And why.

45 you are spot on, sadly as we move further and further away from what was once common place ie farm culture, hunting even military service over the broad spectrum of society our country and its citizens are losing what once made us strong. Unfortunately it will take something like a mass catastrophe with no one to protect them before they realize that ultimately they are responsible for their own health, welfare and safety. JMOP. PS not sure I would trust him as a physician....

Ask him if he trusts himself with the lives and well being of his patients. That would be a great question to ask him after that comment.

I'll remember that one!

But his comments were right to my point about people who are just frozen in thought and gripped by fear when it comes to guns. And they refuse to confront those fears. I am positive of this, because I was subject to the same East Coast anti-propaganda growing up, and was afraid of guns until my mid twenties. Then after a couple near-attack experiences in three different major cities I forced myself to challenge my fears. And then, after direct experience, I realized most of what I had heard about guns was B.S.

I stayed overnight at his house, because we went to a bar to meet up with other H.S. classmates. Once I heard the group line about "Obama's the smartest guy in Washington" coupled with "yeah, all the opposition's about racism" I knew it was my first and last trip. Like a table full of bobble head dolls. (No relation.) I know what kind of elevated preparatory education all these guys had because I was there with them. I can't believe that to a man they evolved into what I saw and heard. Group think and brainwashing (a la Holder) all came to mind.

I won't even go into what I heard about the next morning at breakfast.

How about she spends more time with her felonious kids.  And now that their out, how they are getting county jobs, or how mom proposed a bill to not allow employers to ask about your criminal record during the employment process.  She is a first class tool!

Wasn't she the one that sponsored a bill that Corzine signed to let convicted felons out of jail earlier when her sons were in jail? I don't recall the details, but I think there was a few people that were murdered by some of the early released convicts.

She stated before she became congresswoman that she has antigun agenda. I asked her several times on facebook to explain her position on gun control and she just deleted my and some other's guy questions. I was proud of Rush Holt being my representative even when we did not agree on more than one question. But this representative is just a disgrace.

Good work staying on top of it. Make and keep records (such as screen shots) when they behave like that.

45DOll - challenge some of these people in a polite way. Say something like, "Is that because you aren't familiar with firearms?" Invite some to the range with you and start them out on a 22.

I brought one coworker to the range. I think he believed the gun was going to explode! His hands were shaking and he was very nervous his first time. Started him out on a 38 in full size revolver. By the end of day he was much more comfortable and had graduated to a semi auto 9mm. He had a great time.

Some people have no idea how firearms work. I'm surprise at how many

grown men I've met who never fired a gun. I wasn't raised around guns but was in the Boy Scouts and had friends in college who would take me shooting with them. In this area there is a lack of places to shoot. Couple that with the negative preconceptions people have in this area about guns and its easy to see why so many "hate" something they have no experience with!

Kind of reminds me of my brother. Years ago I bought a bag of pistachio nuts. Offered him some. "No, thanks. I don't like them." He said. I asked if had ever tried them before. He said no. That he just "knew" he wouldn't like them. I harangued him (I'm the oldest of 3 brothers) until he finally said "Okay, okay, Ill try some if you'll just leave me alone!!" He tried them and I had to pry the damn bag away from him. He LOVED them and almost half my pistachios!

We need to be positive advocates of our hobby. Politely challenge and invite people to become familiar with firearms. Many will turn you down but a few will take you up on the offer. They may not run out and get FID right away but at least they will have gained some experience and insight into a subject they previously had no real world experience with.

To get back on topic....yeah, this law is dumb with a capital "D"! It's the same mentality Bloomberg had with trying ti limit soda sizes. "THEY" think they know what is right for everyone and are trying to push it on everyone. PUSH back. Educate the few you can. Join NRA, SAF or other like groups. Also participate in pushing back. Take a look at justifiableneed.com & recallsweeney.com and do what you can locally to join others in pushing back!

Glad you tried to press her on issues. Laughable that she cowered behind her screen and deleted your questions or blocked you.

But Rush Holt? He is (was) one of the most liberal Reps in Congress. That's based on his voting record. He was in virtual lockstep with Obama as I recall. I do not specifically know how he voted on firearms bills, but I'd be very surprised if he possesses even a smidgen of 2A support. Hated it when he was my Rep.

I emailed his office numerous questions and only ever received one "thank you for contacting me" reply. Every email was polite and asked a serious question. So i lost any respect for him shortly after the non responses. His staff likely just didn't like my questions.

like mipa said.......post the question, then take a screenshot. then when she deletes it, do another screenshot showing it missing....then make her famous for not only ignoring a constituent, but for blatantly blowing you off..

Great idea, several different screenshots would make a great YouTube VIDEO that can be passed around to everyone and even uploaded on Facebook. (For the screen shots, you might want to hide your screen ID (there are several ways) or use a Facebook account under a bogus name). In addition, you  want others to upload the video in case she demands that YouTube and/or Facebook take it down.

I agree completely with this and the rest of your post. And I have done exactly that with more than one person on more than one occasion.

That particular evening however I was a guest in someones home, my host was the surprisingly declared anti-gun liberal, and the others were classmates I hadn't seen in 40 years. Besides being stunned, I simply chose not to start a political food fight. I was far from home, and knew there would be no conversions that evening. It was a purely social get together.

That's exactly right.  Sometimes you're better off just letting things go, than to prove you're right and be a dick about it.

As someone much wiser than I am once said, what good is it to win an argument and lose a friend?

Wow, she seems like a gem.  Look how many other NJ reps co-sponsored (along with mine in NY).  I doubt this will get out of committee, but I wrote to my future rep, Leonard Lance, just to make him aware that he'll have a new constituent that doesn't agree with this b.s.

Hmmm.... can't paste the link showing the co-sponsors.    www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/house-bill/2283/cosponsors   Here it is typed in.

I think this poor woman is a victim of Fetal alcohol syndrome. Her mom drank to much when she was in the womb

Sounds like a prime candidate for NJ democrats to elect.... I believe brain damage, is a prerequisite to joining the Democratic National party...

Why is it that some punk ass kid can point a gun at me and I can't even protect myself?   I left a few words over there reminding her what WOULD (should) have happened if we didn't live in this oppressive state.

That is so going to piss me off, the day I need a gun to defend myself, and all of mine are home because the State of New Jersey denies me my

naturally given, Constitutionally protected right to protect myself.
