ak build in progress

We normally build precision bolt guns, but just for shits and giggles, we figured we'd try an ak. We had an old Romanian around so why not.

 

All the old stuff pulled off.

Chopping it down to 14.5 and threaded it.

drilled out that hideous clunky scope mount.

 

We tigged all the rivets holes shut and grinded them flat.

 

Now to wait for the big brown truck.....

So I got most of it done. I just have to install the rear sight and it should be good to go.

We cerakoted it in sniper gray and black. The bolt was sprayed in a silver gold mix.

Shortened to 14.5, 16" with lantac brake, front sight gas block combo, bcm stock and grip, vltor ar stock adapter, SLR ar grip adapter, MI SS rail, tapco g2 trigger. Metal was finish in sniper gray and black cerakote. The bolt was cerakoted silver/gold mix.

Mike is building me a very kick ass 300 win mag. Remington 700 platform Heavy barrel varmint. Theyre builds are spot on from what ive seen. So an ak should be childs play to them. Mike if you want put up any pics that you want to feel free. Im looking for 1/4 moa at 1000 yards I think its possible with this build. Correct? As long as i can do my part and with load development.
