That's a failure of training, clearly no one every showed her how to shoot a gun, which seeing how it is a South American country it is pretty par for the course.

From my understanding, you don't have to be a sharp shooter to be a LEO. You really don't have to be into guns or even like guns to get into the profession. I remember being at the Bullet Hole a few times when they had officers run through their quals and afterwards looking at their targets and thinking "wow, I can definitely shoot better than that". I have a friend who is a Detective and he admitted to me that he rarely goes shooting and sometimes the only shooting he does is when he has to qualify.

 

That video is incredible though. I'm sure it's kind of like the blind leading the blind. Maybe from their perspective that's absolutely acceptable!

Plus I'm not really sure this counts as shooting a gun .. I think it is just a very very very long accidental discharge.

I've seen a 30 second LEO Qual. Dude folded the paper in half so it would take half the rounds....
