Jgulla08 0 Posted June 21, 2015 How can I build an AR for my dad? We are both FID holders. He will never buy one for himself because he's a pretty frugal guy, so this would be an awesome gift for him. How do I go about transferring it to him if I do build it? Jgulla08 0 Posted June 21, 2015 I feel stupid for asking, but what do you with the certificate? Turn it into local police? Also, I'd love to give it to him tomorrow but I don't work that fast lol

Jgulla08 0 Posted June 21, 2015 Wow. I'm surprised it's that easy in this state. Reading the form, that's what it seemed like. I just couldn't believe that it was that easy here haha
jackandjill 683 Posted June 22, 2015 Just to clarify, its not "easy" compared to other states in USA. As FPID holders, you both went through rigorous process of background checks, finger prints, months (if not years) of waiting, having issued a state identification number etc. In addition, you would have (or will) go through the NICS checks for the initial purchase of serialized lower, where its logged at the dealer. As if thats not good enough, you both sign that piece of paper declaring eligibility for the transfer. All that for the pleasure of purchasing and keeping a long gun at home and may be take it to range once in a while. So, compared to other states, NJ drags law abiding citizens through the mud (process) for no apparent benefit to the state or people.
