New Jersey Firearm Purchase and Permitting Study Commission,

I agree, considering the bevy of guns bills that have been proposed in the last few years, once CC is out and a Dem is running the show, expect 10 round mag limits and a full "assault weapons" ban, both with no grandfathering. Also likely is a prohibition on internet sales of ammo, ammo limits and perhaps background checks for ammo as well. One thing that is sure, NJ will lead the nation in gun laws.

This is why our target date of escape is January 2018!

100% stainless guy here

Not by any means Zeke. Nobody's perfect, especially me. I admit when I fukc up. I've done it a dozen times. I admit when I've been stupid or ignorant. In this instance I am merely reporting reality.

Then you agree that negotiating with something would have been better than just bending over and pointing to the Vaseline jug, because that's what we've done and that's what we're facing.

So you believe that Governor Weinberg would have vetoed all those bills and pardoned all those individuals (or asked her AG for clarification that let them off). And future Gov. Sweeney will do the same. You believe that given the circumstances of CC's presidential run there were no opportunities, no openings, no possibility of holding his feet to the fire, nothing. You're still mad about that ad from 1993 aren't you? Admit it.

The ad, LOL? No, I'm not still mad about it. But if you think his beliefs on the issue have changed at all since then, you're just fooling yourself. Sure, I'm glad he vetoed the mag limit bill, but don't forget that he asked for the .50 cal ban that he later vetoed (only after he was warned that it would hurt his presidential chances). He's no less of an anti than he was in '93, and if you can't see that, you must be blind.

The pardons do us no good, they only set us back further. The outrage over our unjust laws could have been the start of something that could have gone in our favor. He just made a few high profile cases go away, and with them, a chance for us to make some changes. You don't really think he pardons every out-of-stater, do you? I know of one case, a trucker arrested with an out of state permit, that only made the town paper. I googled it a couple months ago and there was nothing but the original story, no updates, there'd be an update if he got a pardon. I'm guessing that without media attention, he's in prison now. If Sweeney, Weinberg or who ever is smart, they'll do the same thing, pardon the ones that make the news, that way they won't have to fix the laws either.

You prefer to await time travel and 7,000 heretofore undiscovered signatures, and crying in your beer. Amazing.

Time travel isn't very likely, but neither is a leopard changing his spots, or Christie actually appointing that committee to consider making any changes. You didn't fall for that, did you?

I have news for you: We now have nothing, no opening, no possibilities, no hope of moving forward. We're in far worse crap than we were six months ago, one year ago, etc. And just wait. By mid 2018 you'll be lighting candles at St. Alphonzo's, wishing that CC could run again.

If he runs again, his opponent can count on my vote, and my wife's vote too. So much for the 2.8 votes that you keep saying you would expect from the 2 of us. We didn't have any more chance 6 months ago than we have right now, you just thought we had a chance because CC is a R. I could have told you back then that he wasn't going to do a damn thing for us.

I wonder how some of you guys get through life, bitter and resentful, spiteful and dogmatic, unforgiving to the point of cutting off your own noses, unwilling to take advantage of the silver linings, few as they may be.

No resent or bitterness here (at least not on 2A), just realistic expectations. He is against guns, plain and simple. He used to admit it, but he found out it might hinder his career so he tries to put on a show and toe the party line. It is what it is. But some people are just blinded by partisanship to the point that they don't see the governor's new suit for what it is.

But don't feel so bad, our state leadership is right behind you. Encouraging you, lecturing on theology and constitutional law, riling you up, scoffing and threatening nobody, for nothing.

Welcome to the hard-assed, insane world of New Jersey gun culture.

We should change the tagline of these forums to, "And through out efforts they all soiled their drawers."

I'm not sure what any of that is supposed to mean. I must have gotten you all worked up, you're not making sense.

Glenninjersey lets do sumtin, even if it is wrong

I am for doing something but I for one want to make sure we do it RIGHT this time!!!!! We have had nothing but failures in the past! We need to do it right this time!!! No room for error!!!

Alex is getting the word out there and must be given due credit for doing so! So we screwed up with the Sweeney recall, we need to move on and work together to bring about real change!!!!

Zeke,Jus doin supmtin aint enuf! We have to do it right this time! I know you hate to type but we need to be and appear intelligible in this effort!!! Not an attack, just constructive criticism my friend!

I am 57 years old and was raised to understand that people judge you by the way you speak! I know from other posts that you are very bright and have a good understanding of the English language!

I would hesitate to join forces with, let alone follow someone who says "lets do sumtin, even if it is wrong!"

its 1/2 intronet

Cough, the other part sir is that I realize there are no absolutes. There is no such perfection that you speak of. Of this, and all things, it will be uphill. It will be uphill like it has always been. And may breeze blow our ashes uphill!

Your best work?? You took my criticism the wrong way as I thought you might! I would not follow you into battle with that attitude! Nor would many others! Your virtually unintelligible response shows a deliberate effort

to be a smart ass and this is NOT what we need in this effort! We need clarity and teamwork to get this done! Please don't call me sir, it is a sign of respect, of which you appear to have none!

Vote me for Governor. I don't want to be president.

Okay, I vote for Mipa for Governor of the State of New Jersey!  Do you really want that aggravation in your life or should I vote for you as Governor of Pennsylvania where life for you as Governor would

be a bit easier for someone our age!!!
