MidwestPX 172 Posted July 4, 2015 .308 AR FTW. I love mine though it was a PITA to get the gas dialed in.

DargZ 5 Posted July 4, 2015 Why? I am in the process of building another light weight one for running and gunning. So far, it's cheaper than my AR as I'm finding a lot of parts on sale now. The only thing missing now are the barrel and optic. Feeding it is a different story though. Even if I reload, the bullets themselves are not cheap. I would probably have to sell some organs to build a Christensen Arms.
MidwestPX 172 Posted July 12, 2015 What's the intended use for this? Range toy? Or are you chasing the bleeding edge of precision shooting? If you're going for the latter, I'd suggest you skip the .308 caliber altogether and build this in one of the 6mm or 6.5mm calibers.
