Somerset IDPA this Sunday

Recommended Posts

How have the matches been lately? I was shooting comp frequently for a couple years and then put the time in other hobbies but Somerset was always packed and the matches were as slow as molasses. It didn't help many people stood there and talked instead of scoring and pasting.

The problem is not lack of pasters or SO's to score - it is the physical constraint of the venue. Not much to be done there. Still slow, but it is still one of my favorites. The summer is not as crowded as the winter matches, as evidenced by slots still being available. A great match for newbies and experienced shooters alike. One thing you develop with age is patience.

Can anyone come by and watch the match? Looking to start getting into competing but don't have anything setup for it yet

Yes. Just make sure that you bring eyes & ears. Extra hands for taping targets are always appreciated. If you have the gear, I suggest you dive right in - but spectating is fine also.

I first got into IDPA in somerset, as a matter of fact I took Stu's course last year and it's what got me started.  The folks at somerset are the nicest people you'll ever meet, they are extremely helpful and knowledgeable.  If your a beginner like I was last year somerset would be a great place for you to start, you won't regret it.
