S&W SHIELD 9 CCW

Recommended Posts

S&W Shield is fast becoming my new favorite concealed carry gun. Put on this morning around 8 made 2 trips to Home Depot , did yard work all day including trimming Palm trees a run to the brush site and a couple of other stops . I just about forgot it was on my hip all day .

So it is for me.  I used to "practice CCW" in my home in NJ as well.  Now, I can go out an about with it in FL. :dancing:

Great to hear! I'm seriously considering that as my CCW purchase. I love the size and how thin it is. I'm a pretty skinny guy so with 30" 30" jeans and a Med shirt I can't hide a lot.

Just curious what IWB holsters does everyone use? Especially from the skinny guys lol

I'm a short and relatively skinny individual.  For me, it's more of an issue between using the seven round vs. the eight round magazine with finger rest.  I've been using the concealment express iwb holster with adjustable cant and have no problem concealing even with more "tight" fitting polos and jeans/khakis/pants.  Aside from the obvious printing, most of the time people will mistaken it for something else other than a firearm.  My home town up north is ultra sensitive to any type of carry, and I have never been questioned for carrying in public.

I carried the Shield for three days in Georgia in May. Walking around the AIA convention all day. Sitting in lectures, talking to other attendees, presenters and industry reps. No one ever noticed it was on my waste and I wasn't wearing baggy clothes. Business casual dress, dress shirts, poloes and so on. Using a BladeTech AIWB holster and it seemed to do the job very well. Even driving around Atlanta and going to the airport, no problems.

In summer clothes I can't hide my G19, but the Shield, no problem. I'm 5-10 and 145lbs and wear fairly closely tailored clothing, the Shield is the go to pistol when I travel to Free America.

Alex V:?

Were your business casual polo shirts tucked into your pants ?

Negative sir, not tucked in.  From what  understand the holster would allow for that, but I never tried it. The polo shirts and button down dress shirts I wore were from Express, size small.  So as I said, not big baggy clothing.

I wear mine in a cook aiwb kydex holster. It uses one synthetic loop with a one-way snap. Very easy to put on and take off. One thing I've learned from carrying everywhere and everyday is that the bigger and more difficult the gun and holster is, the greater chance of not carrying.
