SuRrEaLNJ 294 Posted July 23, 2015 I have a manticore Night Brake for my saiga conversion, and being mine wasnt threaded from the factory i need to get it threaded. The barrel length is 16.3. The night brake adds 1.2" if im not mistaken. That gives us a total of 17.5. Would it be worth it to get the barrel cut back to 14.8ish for an OAL of 16 and then have it re crowned, or should i just have it threaded as is? would the change be noticeable? Anyone have an idea on cost, which may factor into the decision. Ive already removed the FSB in favor of a front sight gas block, so a 24/26mm conversion is out. JT Custom Guns 956 Posted July 23, 2015 A couple of points: 1) Other than looks - cutting back from 16.3 to 14.8 (approx. 1.5") will not effect performance that you would possibly notice 2) If you so choose to cut the barrel back, the Muzzle devise will need to be welded as per NFA rules, (16"+ can just be pinned)
