MissionaryMike 1 Posted July 26, 2015 I know NJ isn't a big 3-gun state. But for those of you who run it once in a while, what are the more popular guns out there. Typically, 3-gun or USPSA Limited divisions don't have a capacity limit on mags, but we're restricted to 15 so...
Vlad G 345 Posted July 26, 2015 Guns and magazines are different things. The guns you use in nj for 3gun are the same you would use anywhere else, just with smaller magazines.

I should have been more specific. I am asking more in lines with which gun options I can take advantage of the 15 round restriction. I'm probably more interested in 9mm options, b/c that's what I reload for, but I'll take .40 suggestions as well. I just want to know what's being used out there on the scene. I've not yet attended any 3 gun matches myself. Edit: I know most major gun manufacturers make 10 round mags for most of their guns. 15 rounders (9mm), like the one CZ makes for their 75b is much more rare. Golf battery 1,223 Posted July 27, 2015 Any pistol with a 15 round mag that you shoot comfortably. Same for semi rifle and shotgun. Am i missing something here? Whatever division you like !!! If you havent done it before. Id say start with what youre most comfortable with. ?? Only because a dq really sucks and it hits home hard.
Krdshrk 3,872 Posted July 27, 2015 I use: S&W M&P 9L Mossberg 930 JM Pro (6+1 capacity) AR15
ronhonda 86 Posted July 27, 2015 what do you currently have?
MissionaryMike 1 Posted July 28, 2015 I've got a CZ SP-01 Shadow for production, and I've got some 15 round magazines on order for it. I am toying with the idea of setting up another gun dedicated for 3 gun, but for the life of me can't find other 9mm from the major brands that offer 15 round mags. Maybe it's a stupid search and I should just use the CZ for 3 gun also.

S&W M&P 9 has 15 round mags - hard to get but they exist. http://www.gandrtactical.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=3000247
Vlad G 345 Posted July 28, 2015 Just shoot your CZ, you don't need to spend more money at this point, it will be fine.
ronhonda 86 Posted July 28, 2015 What Vlad, said the SP01 is a good gun for production and will be good enough for 3gun. Get your feet wet a bit and see if you like it(you will) and decide how you want to proceed. Rifle and shotgun plus accessories will get expensive. Also don't listen to Krdshk, he has a m&p and is biased towards it
Joe P. 4 Posted July 28, 2015 though it seems you like steel guns, the HK VP9 comes with 15rd mags and can take P30 mags as well...just sayin'

ronhonda 86 Posted July 28, 2015 Rather have the SP01. Shot a stock model and it was nice. Shot one from CZ custom shop and was amazed at how nice it was. All that being said run whatever you have.
Vlad G 345 Posted July 28, 2015 Also don't listen to Krdshk, he has a m&p and is biased towards it. Heck I shoot an M&P too, and I still told him to use his CZ
MissionaryMike 1 Posted July 28, 2015 The CZ is nice. Only M&P I've held is the Shield. But the grip didn't feel right to me. I'm sure full size M&Ps feel differently.
