Budasac 13 Posted August 1, 2015 Budasac, I'm pretty sure that I looked at that exact rifle a few weeks ago. Was the seller's name Andy? If so, I decided not to buy it since the barrel was quite loose and I was concerned that there might be other issues with the rifle. I'm hoping that he either had the barrel tightened before he sold it to you or made you aware of the issue.Same rifle. Barrel is tight though. He didn't say anything about it but everything looks good. There is a little bit of play between the upper and lower but nothing I'm concerned about. I had a buddy who has built a couple ARs check it out and he thought it looked good. I won't know for sure until I shoot it but everything appears to be OK. Thanks for the heads up though. ajr576 5 Posted August 1, 2015 I initially thought it was play between the upper/lower so I removed the upper and held the receiver tight while rocking the barrel back and forth...I'm glad to hear that he addressed it.
Budasac 13 Posted August 4, 2015 These are the only changes I'll be making to this rifle. A fatter grip for my big paws and a 15 round mag.
Budasac 13 Posted August 21, 2015 I finally got out to the range yesterday to test out the rifle. It was fine for about 30 rounds, then it started to jam. Turns out the ejector was stuck. Luckily I was able to disassemble the BCG and managed to finally free the ejector. What I found was a bunch of tiny brass shavings in the channel with the spring and pin. Once I got that cleaned up and back together, she ran like a champ for another 120 rounds. At 100 yards with iron sights I was able to put every shot into a 1' wide silhouette. (Which I thought was pretty good considering the front sight was the same width as the target.) In any case, it performed very well over all (besides the hick-up with the ejector.) I may mount a scope on it the next time and test the accuracy but, for now I'm satisfied that I got a good deal.
Scorpio64 5,120 Posted August 21, 2015 Wouldn't it be funny if the seller sold it because it jammed and they thought it was going to be costly to repair. Good to hear it was a simple maintenance issue.

Good to hear it was a simple maintenance issue.Yep, it wouldn't be the first time either. I got a nice deal on a coach gun that had a stuck firing pin and a few other minor issues. I'm just glad we were able to fix it on the spot. It would have been a disappointing range trip if I was only able to shoot 30 rounds. I had another rifle with me but the whole reason for going was to try out the AR. It's probably my own fault. Being a used rifle, I should have completely disassembled it before shooting. I did a field strip and eyeballed everything but that was it.

Budasac 13 Posted August 22, 2015 Nice find Budasac! Now for the bad news! ARs are like potato chips, you can't have just one!!!!! They are also very customizable!!! Yes, I know. That's why I have avoided it for so long. I do have the M&P. I'm not gonna mess with the Bushmaster though. I plan to go out and buy a lower today so I can start a build.
