bhunted 887 Posted July 27, 2015 Been doing some major house cleaning and turned up a like new box of .308 180gr ammo. Purchased from Sport Authority when ammo was cheap and they sold ammo. Also found boxes of 9mm and 45acp CCI Blazer which use to cost 10 bud a box. Wish these days were back. I also have revolver ammo of 38 special, 357 magnum etc. Couple boxes of each which I'd trade for other ammo ... I'll post pix in the list section once I take a round count and a photo.... Here is the $8.99 ammo just for a look back and say ahhhhh. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Vlad G 345 Posted July 27, 2015 If you bought around 2000 official CPI inflation would make it about $13 today. If you believe the shadow stats type inflation calculators, it should be around $30. Multiple places online sell it for around $19. I actually don't think it is that bad, about the same time you were paying $1.50 for a gallon of regular. JackDaWack 2,895 Posted July 27, 2015 The price of ammo should fluctuate like that of gas, but typically doesn't. The ammo companies are quick to increase cost when the price of materials increases... but when lead and especially copper are hitting lows they just bank the cash. Just to put it into perspective, a few months ago i was paying nearly 1.50 for a gallon of regular.
Vlad G 345 Posted July 27, 2015 You do see fluctuations in the prices of more common ammo used in large quantities, like .223 and 9mm. I recently saw Wulf .223 back to $220 per 1000.
DSD1026 48 Posted July 27, 2015 and right before the 855 scare, i saw a case of wolf go for $200 flat.. (missed out on that deal though).. even if its steel, if i saw that price again, i'd buy it just to have for a rainy day..
Vlad G 345 Posted July 27, 2015 Aimsurplus is currently selling Wolf for $220 plus shipping (I presume). If you want Wolf, that is a pretty darn solid price.
JackDaWack 2,895 Posted July 27, 2015 That was the cost of wolf before the supply issue. So its expected to go down. Buy we should see even steeper decreases in price considering component parts are near record lows.
Vlad G 345 Posted July 27, 2015 Nah .. we have an election coming up, with a looooong silly season of people saying stupid things, and a lame-ish duck president trying to leave his mark. I wouldn't get complacent about price of ammo.
bhunted 887 Posted July 27, 2015 Anyone want any of this? Couple boxes are partial. Some just spent rounds, but for the most part. All complete. Maybe trade a box or two of some other stuff I could use like 45acp or something. If so, I'll do a round count tomorrow. I've been painting, so doing this in between paint breaks.
