.....a new project. I have a Uberti 1866 Yellowboy 45LC coming that is a pretty lever action.

I am so pleased with my Uberti Cattleman SS 45LC, I decided the rifle needed an off spring of sort. Some if you might have remembered my 1911 Colt Govt gold plating I did...

Well here I go again.

I was going to brass plate certain parts of the pistol in a similar way you see the harden steel models. But brass unless you coat or wax it, tarnishes. But gold is more forgiving and easier to care for. It also adheres to more metal with less effort. It will plate directly with nickel, brass and copper and with some short etching, stainless steel too. After 3-4 hours of Flitzing and polishing the stainless to almost mirror shine, I did some plating.

I did the hammer, trigger guard, back strap, ejector rod, spring, cylinder rid and all screws.

What we end up with is a nice twist on stainless Cattleman. I also have a bunch of brand new authentic snap caps hand made by a Vet that are made to spec. They have copper bullets so I gold plated a set of 6 seen in last photo. Was fun to do. Sorry for the glared shots. Hard to get photos of the gold. Looks much better in person.

Wrong gun anyway.  You need a DE 50 for a pimp gun.

Very nice, looks great. Some leather and nickel plated loads, you'll be all set. Gotta horse?

Iron horse... Got everything else....

John I should have you do my Uberti El Patron Lol..

Excellent Work!

Roland

Thanks guys.

Don't have the ballz to do other folks guns. If I screw mine up, I can only get mad at myself.

But I can guide anyone if they want. :)

Still waiting on my rifle. Benelli is slow as molasses.
