obracer12 1 Posted August 20, 2015 Long story short: Cleaning out a passed in-laws home and came across a H&R young American revolver, didn't do my research and bought 200 .22LR and surprise surprise it's too long for the cylinder, need shorts. Went to a local shop and they don't have any and Dick's doesn't carry it. Anyone aware of a shop in (856) that carries shorts or is anyone willing to trade 200 long for 200 short. glockncolts 48 Posted August 20, 2015 Call bobs or Butchs. I have bought them there before.
maintenanceguy 510 Posted August 20, 2015 I just bought a few boxes of shorts at Cabelas in DE.
ChrisS 31 Posted August 21, 2015 What brand .22lr did you buy?
obracer12 1 Posted August 21, 2015 ChrisS - 100 of the X super winchester and 100 of the remington Golden. Was able to find some short at Bob's with a 100 round limit on
Newtonian 453 Posted August 21, 2015 I have a bunch of shorts but I'll warn you, they caused the only problems I've ever had in a revolver (S&W 617). Probably no problem in a bolt-action rifle; will probably not cycle a semi. I can look them up in my private arsenal if you like.
JohnnyB 4,322 Posted August 23, 2015 Yeah, Go to Bob's! While you are there, ask him to sign the Recall Sweeney Petition!!!
The brew guy 22 Posted August 24, 2015 Could be chambered for .22L, good luck finding that though.
maintenanceguy 510 Posted August 25, 2015 I've never seen 22 long. I've heard of it but never seen a box.
obracer12 1 Posted August 25, 2015 it's in short, the cylinder ridge is worn away.. so it "could" chamber 22L but given it's age I wouldn't. it's a fun little toy basically. takes 9x longer to load than to shoot lol.
