Walmart Stops Selling MSRs, Some Semi-Automatic Shotguns

Recommended Posts

Although not relevant really to us residing in New Jerky, and i don't shop in Walmart for anything anyway. it may be of interest to some .

their claim is that it is not politically motivated(lie) , and that it is a strict business choice ( yea right , cause AR's don't sell)

at the bottom of article it claims that some online buyers are getting AR's at steeply discounted prices...

but im a show me, or it didn't happen type

Makes sense to me I doubt you'll see a lot of people who are into the more tactical end of shooting browsing through Walmart in fact while I lived in Vermont I went to the Walmart that was in barre quite often they were routinely sold out of pump shotguns and bolt action rifles but I saw ar-15s that were on the rack that gathered dust. From higherend AR15s like the Ruger piston driven one to even the basic plain Jane Smith and Wesson M & P 15

Upscale and tactical markets are flat lined right now.  WW is volume, if it don't sell based on their projections, out the door it goes.  Stores in the NE are in the middle of a revamp, look for all slow items to go as they bring in new stock to fill stores.  WW sales are off and they cannot afford that.

"Our focus in terms of firearms should be hunters and people who shoot sporting clays, and things like that," said McMillon in June. "So the types of rifles we sell, the types of ammunition we sell, should be curated for those things."

When asked at the time if he would curtail sales of semiautomatic guns, McMillon said "yes."

Walmart sells to the masses, they sell cheap and quick... I buy from them every week. Other than that Amazon.com, even gun stuff... caught me by surprise. I don't care if they decide to stop selling anything if it doesn't sell, except Yum Yum sauce, then I would get cranky.
