Educate me on 9mm CZ's

Recommended Posts

Point of order: DA/SA guns like the CZ and Tanfo currently dominate production division, they flatten out when compared with 2011's but they sure seem to work fine over striker fired and DA only guns

Agreed.  I've fondled a CZ with a trigger job.  Double action is insanely smooth and trigger pull is about the same as my 2011 in single.  Single action for this is a light 1.75 lbs.

I bought my P09 from Cajun Gun Works he pinned my mags for 15 rounds. Did it inside looks great

Can you still disassemble the mag to clean it?

Ah - yeah I forgot about Tanfo - I guess they're easier to work on than Sigs and Berettas...

You don't see a lot of DA/SA guns in competition for a reason - it's harder to modify them to run "faster" (lighter trigger pull, shorter reset, etc).  Guns that have a constant trigger pull are much easier to do this on.

Got it. So it comes down to performance in the very special circumstance of a competition. Would you say the choice for self defense/carry is less clear?

My bedroom draw gun is the CZ PCR with night sights. It's is basically a compact 75 with alloy frame. Trigger is around 5.5 lbs double action and 4 lbs. on single action. It is a decocker which I like for self defense. I have around 1,000 rounds with no issues at all. I really am sold on CZ's. I do have others pistols but ergonomics, soft shooting, price and price to up grade triggers they can't be beat in my eyes. The CZ Fourm has so much info and help that no question can't be answered. I have carried the PCR and Rami with no issue at all. The most under rated pistols that most people never heard of.

Definitely - you use what you feel is best for defense.  If you prefer DA/SA over say Striker fired or constant action, go with what works for you.  Personally, my bedside pistol is DA/SA with Safety/Decocker.
