GlastonburyNative 0 Posted September 29, 2015 Hello everyone, The lovely Fedex delivery man left my package of 1,000 rounds of S&B ammo in the rain. According to the Fedex site, he delivered it at a time when it was pouring in my area. I have taken the ammo out of the boxes and am leaving them out to dry, but is it a lost cause at this point? Thanks!
silverado427 10,552 Posted September 29, 2015 I believe s&b ammo has sealed primers, red or green
Jpknj 6 Posted September 29, 2015 The boxes might be ruined but the ammo will be fine. I had cases in 4' water after Sandy. I had to clean the brass up but they fired.

maintenanceguy 509 Posted September 29, 2015 I've had lots of ammo get wet. Dry it off and it will be fine.
DSD1026 48 Posted September 29, 2015 Ammo should be fine.. they are in a box within a box.. may have soaked the outside box, but chances are, if the inside of that box was damp, the individual boxes kept the ammo itself dry.. air it out, should be OK.. WP22 1,558 Posted September 29, 2015 Dayum, that fedex guy really sucks doing the same thing to two of our memnpbers on the same day.
checko 180 Posted September 29, 2015 Probably ruined. If you bring it to me, I will dispose of it properly.

Screwball 483 Posted September 30, 2015 I got that beat... USPS left my rebuilt M1903 outside in the rain when I had $1,000 worth of scope installation done. Not to mention an Adult Signature was required. No plastic. Luckily someone got home soon enough and got it out of the box before rain soaked to the gun. Screwball 483 Posted September 30, 2015 thats a crazy looking scope! beautiful M1903... Thanks... It was pure frustration when I saw the soaked box. Not like it was clothes or lawn furniture. Only other thing that came close to pissing me off like that was FedEx gouging the polymer grip on my .45 PX4.
fatty 241 Posted September 30, 2015 the driver must be an anti... I guess i've had good luck. Most of the UPS/Fedex drivers in my area love guns so they always took extra care for me

The_Matrix 105 Posted September 30, 2015 I ordered an electronics item and the idiot postman left it in the rain today, next to the mailbox. He/she could have place it near my covered garage. Just plain lazy. I was going to call the USPS and yell at them for being so stupid. But, thank god, the rain did not soak thru the box and touch the sensitive parts. robot_hell 72 Posted September 30, 2015 They are probably just fine. I wouldn't even worry about it.
GRIZ 3,365 Posted September 30, 2015 Guess I've been lucky. USPS,Fedx, or UPS always put mine in a bag. I've had ammo all kinds of wet from rice paddy to going through the washer. All worked. Factory ammo is pretty waterproof even without sealant.
DSD1026 48 Posted September 30, 2015 Our delivery guys put stuff in a plastic bag sometimes if its pouring WHEN THEY DELIVER IT.. If it is not, and it just happens to rain some time during the day after they deliver, then, well, im SOL.. cant really blame them for that though.. and they push it as close to the house as they can to give some kind of shelter (depending on which way the rain is going).. Newtonian 453 Posted September 30, 2015 I was down in your neighborhood looking for missing/stolen Recall Sweeney materials when I observed your ammo delivery. I thought it was strange he wasn't in uniform. So I snapped this picture of the guy who left your ammo in the rain:

Sometimes it's nice to have the sensitive parts touched. Just sayin'.
