gunnarsport 13 Posted October 8, 2015 Does anyone here know if Rayco Armory in Mechantville is out of business? I tried calling and no answer and no email response. Thanks
gunnarsport 13 Posted October 8, 2015 should be out of business??
Kaiser7 33 Posted October 9, 2015 When was it? I think they have pretty bad hours. They were at the Oaks Gun show IIRC, so there's no reason they should be closed. They may still be putting stock back after the show perhaps?
MidwestPX 172 Posted October 9, 2015 As far as I know, they've spent the last year turning things around, ordering inventory, stocking shelves, etc. When I call/email, getting through is hit and miss. You might have to try multiple times.
Barische 4 Posted December 27, 2015 I meant should be open, sorry about late clarification.
Tactical Monkey 51 Posted December 29, 2015 I believe they have had a change in management/ownership. I received a call from them 2 weeks ago, clarifying a transfer I did through them back in February.... Luckily I had the name and FFL number of the receiver of the transfers in my own personal records. So they are open as of a few weeks ago.

svt3183 14 Posted January 1, 2016 My experiences with Rayco have left me believing they will do everything possible to not take your money. They're closest gun shop to me and I don't even consider them anymore
Haddoncoach 22 Posted January 3, 2016 Hey, I disagree. Ray is a very decent guy. He is a top notch gunsmith and is willing to work with you on getting something you want. Ask him for a price, he will show you exactly what the cost will be. Fair to deal with on trade ins and is always available at the shows - will help with transfers too. A good man. alowerlevel 77 Posted January 3, 2016 My experiences with Rayco have left me believing they will do everything possible to not take your money. They're closest gun shop to me and I don't even consider them anymore Ive heard similar stories from my friends that have been there, and its a real shame because they are like 400 yards from my front door. And after hearing those stories, plus others on here, my money goes elsewhere.
Emortal 6 Posted January 6, 2016 Surprised to hear that people avoid Rayco. I've never had a bad experience there. Always good deals and quick & easy transactions.
kwadz 11 Posted January 6, 2016 My experiences with Rayco have left me believing they will do everything possible to not take your money. They're closest gun shop to me and I don't even consider them anymore +1. Both of the guys there are anti-ccw and in favor of expanded background checks. It's obvious they're there ONLY to make money for themselves and do not believe in our rights. I tried striking up friendly conversation with them about our sad state of 2A rights in NJ and they were actually hostile about it, in opposition to expanded rights! I felt like I was having a disagreement with raging anti-gun liberals instead of co-owners of a gun store!
Shawnmoore81 623 Posted January 6, 2016 I never had a problem with them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Haddoncoach 22 Posted January 6, 2016 Just to update those who have not visited Rayco lately - Ray is now a one man show - he no longer employs the guy I believe you are referring to. Ray is aware of the issues of the past and now handles things himself - check in with him again, you may be pleasantly surprised.
voyager9 3,434 Posted January 7, 2016 I haven't been there in over a year. The last time I tried it was to do a transfer on a lower. They were hard to get on the phone, or find out if the item had arrived. The hours were also odd, and incorrect on their website. Finally, the transfer fee was like $60 so pretty steep compared to others. If things have changed I may give them another go.

The hours are still funky.
