Princetonian58 53 Posted October 15, 2015 Has anyone ever heard of developing carpal tunnel syndrome in your shooting hand from recoil?
Vlad G 345 Posted October 15, 2015 I don't think it is something that happens a lot. Tendinitis and/or tennis elbow are fairly common for high volume shooters though.
bhunted 887 Posted October 15, 2015 If shooting is flaring it up, then you have non related underlying problems. You already have CTS. If I shoot my ultra 1911 alot, it aggravates it. Start wearing wrist bans when shooting. Helps alot. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Vlad G 345 Posted October 15, 2015 I can tell you that I definitely got a case of tennis elbow from some dryfire practice, and I've been doing a lot of work to strengthen those tendons and the muscle supporting them.
BullzeyeNJ 104 Posted October 15, 2015 Yup, I know a few seasoned shooters that have developed CTS in both wrists from extensive shooting over the course of many years. These guys were either professional shooters, or shot extensively in the military so we are talking lots of lead downrange. Makes me think of shooters more pussified loads of 9mm more often then other calibers.

Yea, but you should be holding your gun with both hands. This way your weak hand won't have elbow problems. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Vlad G 345 Posted October 15, 2015 It is actually my strong hand elbow I screwed up doing to many rifle and shotgun pickup with just one hand for 3gun.
