jackandjill 683 Posted November 16, 2015 9X19, You are being overly dramatic. NOBODY is coming to take our guns! Thats not gonna happen. They already did. Re-Read NJ law on firearms. They took your right (and guns). Then they tell you what you need to do (and continue to do) to be "eligible" to keep some of it. The day you stop playing by their rules, is the day you lose rest of your guns - automatically. I am not trying to be funny or dramatic. That IS the NJ Law on firearms, including slingshots and BB gunz. DirectTV Version: ------------------- In North Korea, everyone is a millionaire. Except, Socialist Bank Of Kim "securely" holds the money. Given how irresponsible people are, the Govt must "secure" people's money in its safe, for the people. On the terms dictated by Mr. Kim, following procedure directed by Mr. Kim, people can go see their money once in a while. If they have been good enough through the years, they may even get to "touch" some. Really behaved Citizens can borrow a 100 Bill and drive around town, but must bring it back to deposit at the end of the day. Would you say North Korean Citizen is really a millionaire or was robbed of their money long before and they don't even realize ?
gunnarsport 13 Posted November 16, 2015 Nickjc, Ironically, my handle "gunnarsport" has absolutely NOTHING to do with firearms! It is the name of a high end bicycle company that I purchased my custom bike from! The owner of the company used his dog, Gunnar, for the name of the company. And I stand by my statement that it will NEVER happen, especially now after the ISIS slaughter on Paris, this may be a turning point for the United States. Trump was right when he said this weekend if the Paris citizens were able to be armed and not defenseless, some of the slaughter MAY have been able to be stopped. Old Glock guy 1,125 Posted November 16, 2015 IMHO, a legislative push for a 10 round mag limit, while troubling in itself, is made even more ominous by the fact that we already have a 15 round limit. If our legislators believe that 15 rounds are too many, then isn't it only common sense to believe that at some point they will believe 10 to be too many, then five, then one? I had the experience recently of speaking with an anti-gun proponent who was pushing for a ten round limit. (For some reason they believe that and universal background checks are The Holy Grail, at least for now.) When I asked him why he thought ten was the right number, he said, "Because we can't go to one yet."

If we give them one thing today, they'll want three things tomorrow, and 5 things the next day, etc. etc., until they get their whole end game result.... "Confiscate...Confiscate...Confiscate..." mipafox 438 Posted November 16, 2015 100 % correct Nick. As soon as Christie leaves office it will be 10 rds, and God knows what else. And I bet we will not be allowed to be Grandfathered our 15 rounders either. Yo, nobody needs no 7 caps to kill them deers, capiche? Faggetaboutit! Newtonian 453 Posted November 16, 2015 Depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to go to the range and know for sure after January, 2018 that nobody's going to narc on you then stick with 10 rounds, because that's what we're getting from Loretta and the newly-elected governor Sweeney. Which reminds me of a joke. An old Jewish hag and a ham-fingered Irishman go into a bar. There they meet a first-generation Italian raised in New Jersey who from the womb hated guns... If your goal is to check 7 times that nothing's in the chamber and hug it through the night pretending you can use it, get the legal max. Heck get a 20 round mag. We cannot give one inch! I'm with you on this! You say "we cannot give one inch!" and "we cannot give up any ground to them". Problem is that we have our say by voting in those who represent our views and as a state, we blew that chance BIG TIME!!! So let's say C.C. leaves and Sweeney becomes Governor! Within the first 30 days they pass laws that all AR and AK platforms are banned! They also lower the magazine limit to 10 rounds! They also ban the sale and possession the following ammo: .223, 5.56, and 7.62! Okay , so here we are! We will not give one inch! We won't give up any ground! But the state says we have 30 days to either turn in all banned weapons and ammo to the state or local police or sell them to a party out of state! We are down to 4 choices now! 1) Turn everything over to the police and lose $$$$$! 2) Sell out of state and feel lucky to get half or less of what you paid due to a flood of desperate sellers. The mags will go for a couple bucks since who wants 15 rounders when they can have 30s of more? Lose $$$$. 3) Don't give one inch! Keep everything knowing you are a Felon if caught. Bubba will take good care of you as long as you don't claim to have a headache too often!!! Lose you freedom! 4) Sell your home, buy a new home in a free state, and move within that 30 day period! Best choice, but most can't do this based on family, your job etc!!! Which one would you choose??? When it comes down to reality! All of the choices suck and we lose no matter what we do!!! It makes us feel better when we use tough words, but in the end, we give in and we lose yet again!!!!!!!!!!!!

I apologize upfront for responding to something not directed to me. I am willing to wager a 22lr brick (and then some) that more restrictions are on the way. The more Paris style stuff happens, the more Rights will be erased under guise of safety and security. For an anti-2A, ANY reason is a GOOD reason to chip away at 2A. The following is the justification (AS IF they need one) from an Anti perspective: ------------ If Terrorists can get AKs in France where "reasonable controls" are better implemented than US, imagine type of carnage the Terrorists will cause in US with the type of "easy access" to weapons here. We need better, stronger Universal Background Checks. FBI need to know everyone you are associated with and their grandmother. Doing house checks, neighbor checks, dog checks and cat checks can only help thwart Terrorists from obtaining weapons. And we have to integrate UBC with No Fly Lists to ensure Terrorists cannot get access to weapons. Oh, we should also close Gun Show Loopholes because its "so easy" for Terrorists buy firearms at gun shows... BTW, if you dont agree with this type of reasonable measures, you must be Terrorist, hence denied from owning any firearms automatically. ------------
gunnarsport 13 Posted November 17, 2015 Interesting. So lets say that in early 2018, 15 round magazines become banned in favor of 10 rounds, would we have turn in our 15 round magazine to local or state police?? What if you have a TON of them? Do we get reimbursed?? Just throwing it out for thoughts. How has it worked in other states that had a magazine round reduction??

JohnnyB 4,289 Posted November 17, 2015 I chose 5). I do admit, however, that it helps to have no family to tie me to the area, and I could relocate my business with me. It also helped that the Real Estate Market was just starting to get better enough.. I envy your ability to get out! I could but my children bought homes within a 3 mile radius of ours and my wife babysits our grandchildren a couple days a week! I could rent a one room apartment with no bathroom or kitchen out of state just for my guns and mags! With a good security system installed! Or if I were smart, I could go in with someone and buy a nice storage property right across the river and give all residents of the PRNJ another option to store their contraband in a facility that is alarmed and guarded 24/7!!! They could use this a a temporary or permanent storage facility! When faced with 30 days to do something, my new #6 idea would be the best way to go!!! Temperature and humidity controlled environment. Rent a safe or rent a space to store yours! We would even offer safe pickup for a fee! This would be at an affordable price of course! Why not put in a gun range and gun shop with cleaning area at the same location so you can shoot them, clean them and put them back in the safe. Never having to transport them! C'mon guys, this is a great Idea! Who wants in on this??? HBecwithfn7 has first dibs since his dumb statement gave me the idea!!! You may steal my business plan and all I ask in return is free membership and storage for my few guns, mags and ammo!!! I would even sell 30 round mags or rent them for a buck!!!! I think that's the way to go, if you can't yet GTFO! Get a storage facility close by, but out of state. I actually had one in Florida when I was still in NJ, and the last time they flirted with a 10 rnd limit (A2006), all my 15 round mags took a "well deserved" vacation in my FL storage locker, until I could reunite with them. HBecwithFn7 296 Posted November 17, 2015 PA was the preferred destination when NJ pulled that ban crap under Florio, Lots of "cousins" are still hanging out in PA. Hmmmph... Whenever I hear that name, I'm reminded of the Star Ledger political cartoon long ago. Sadam Hussein is standing in front of a mirror saying: "Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who's the most hated and feared leader of them all?" And in the 2nd panel, he's all Pi$$ed off and screaming on the phone: "WHO THE HELL IS JIM FLORIO????"
