mipafox 438 Posted November 8, 2015 I didn't know this was novel. There is a gas station that sells it at the pump about 4 miles from me, and the nearest grocery or store is 8 miles.
jackandjill 683 Posted November 8, 2015 Happen to catch the price? $3 per gallon.. clear (not red). They will ask you to bring a "blue" can (marked for Kerosene storage) though.

jackandjill 683 Posted November 8, 2015 ^^^ yep thats the one. I could be looking in wrong places, but that was the only place with the pump for decent price. Other places I called are all large scale home delivery / heating oil companies.

jackandjill 683 Posted November 10, 2015 what i mean, is that the last time i bought kerosene, it cost half as much as gasoline. How long ago was that ? from Interwebs search, looks like K1 has been hovering around 2:50 to 3 for 5/6 years now.

There is a gas station that sells it at the pump about 4 miles from me, and the nearest grocery or store is 8 miles.I have zero problem finding pure white kerosene in Sussex County. There's multiple gas stations in the area that pump it. I didn't realize in Bergen County it was a rarity either.

And for portable back up heating I suppose.

But they did it. Wish they brought natural gas in at the same time, but that would have made sense... I still have a private well though...

I remember when it was about $0.45 a gallon!! I talked to a truck driver from NJ and he told me that New Jersey almost banned it because truck drivers were mixing it with diesel and not paying the state fuel taxes. I guess now it's on par with diesel prices....
