AlDente67 563 Posted November 9, 2015 I'm sure this topic is covered somewhere, but wanted to check on the current regulations, as I never before thought I'd be interested. A friend is involved with his grandfather's estate liquidation, and he supposedly has around 80 items of various vintages and types. I might be interested in some of the newer bits to flesh out some things I've been thinking about, but I'm sure others may also be interested in some things. I'll post a list and pictures when possible. For the time being, I wanted to check with you all on the transfer details. I'm guessing the same rules hold true - pistol permits for such and sent via FFL in NJ, and same for long guns minus the permit?
Krdshrk 3,877 Posted November 9, 2015 Same as buying anything out of state. Handguns must be transferred through NJ FFL + PP. Long Guns can be purchased out of state from a Retailer/FFL (in that state) with just a COE... but since this is an estate sale, unless the broker has a FFL, then that would have to be sent to a FFL either in PA or you could have it sent to a NJ FFL as well. T Bill 649 Posted November 9, 2015 Use a PA FFL for long gun transfers.
n4p226r 105 Posted November 9, 2015 Use a PA FFL for long gun transfers. As long as they are nj legal guns.
mipafox 438 Posted November 9, 2015 Shop around. A good PA FFL transfer price is $20. $30 or higher is crap. I've never seen $15 in person. This is for transfers, not purchases. I've never paid an FFL fee on dealer stock, not even the $2 + $3 or whatever although I have heard of some that try.
John Boy 6 Posted November 15, 2015 sent via FFL in NJ, and same for long guns minus the permit? Go to the estate's PA FFL place of business for transfer of any long arms there
