mrg455 6 Posted December 17, 2015 I ordered and received a Kydex holster a few months back for my PPQ. I didn't pay enough attention at the time to the model I ordered, I just made sure it was for the M2. When it came in, it didn't fit. The holster has a "closed bottom" which would usually be no big deal, but I have a threaded barrel, and it won't fit. I was originally planning on switching it out with the company for a TB version, but they do not offer one as of yet. I didn't send it back for a refund since it was my mistake, I should have asked more questions. I have never dealt with kydex, can I just take a dremel to it and cut a piece out of the bottom to accommodate the barrel? Do I heat the bottom up and try to stretch out the bottom or am I outta luck? Thanks.

mrg455 6 Posted December 18, 2015 I Just wanted to make sure. I looked on youtube, but nothing I saw was specific, closest showed a notch being made with a bandsaw, but all I have is a dremel.

checko 180 Posted December 18, 2015 Crap it won't fit the m1? I'd have offered to buy it Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
djg0770 481 Posted December 18, 2015 I'd use a drill with a bit slightly larger than the end of the barrel
JackDaWack 2,895 Posted December 18, 2015 A dremel with a reamer would make easy work of that.

A dremel with a reamer would make easy work of that. I'm a little nervous about drilling it straight since I don't have a bench or vice, so I'm going try this tomorrow. If it works, I'll try to post pictures, if it doesn't work no pictures and I'll cry myself to sleep......with some a lot of Makers Mark!
Golf battery 1,223 Posted December 18, 2015 Just make sure the hole is large enough for the suppressor
Stonecoldchavez 92 Posted December 18, 2015 Use a stepped drill bit. A little at a time until the TB fits through.
TonyS. 12 Posted December 21, 2015 Unless I'm missing something here why don't you simply heat it with a hair dryer, slowly, and then adjust the closed end. Get a gloved finger in there and open it up enough to make it work.
mrg455 6 Posted December 22, 2015 I was worried about losing some of the shape if I started messing around with heat. I was able to cut out a piece and sand it smooth with a dremel. I didn't post pics because I'm not really happy how it turned out, The notch is fine, but now the barrel sticks out the bottom a little. It would probably not be as noticeable on a black Kydex, but mine is tan.
Golf battery 1,223 Posted December 22, 2015 Hey whats the problem. If it fits thats all you need to worry about. If its functional then youre good. It aint a fashion show.

I've been researching holsters for my PPQM1, but am still not sure which holster this is. An expensive solution is to cerakote the PPQ tan so it's all matchy-matchy. I'd go with tan pants then too.
