Ammo cans

First, is it a bad thing when you're wife realizes the 4 ammo cans she got you for Christmas wasn't enough? Or when you do?

 

Second, much talk here about greasing seals.

Grease with what? And like remove them?

I grease them with vacuum grease, but I have a lot of that on hand for my job. Any silicone based grease will work.

Some grease has additives that may harm o-rings. Not sure if Mobil 1 is suitable for rubber or viton o-rings. The Super Lube Sillicone grease is fine.

Get the silicon gel they put on pool filter o-rings..... Like Aladdin Magic Lube

I use plumbers grease and Green Grease (great stuff by the way)

 

any waterproof grease should suffice

White lithium grease will work perfectly fine. I picked up a small tube of Permatex White Lithium  from the auto parts store for a few bucks. Use it on o-rings for flashlights, on door and trunk gaskets on my truck. Lotsa uses for that stuff.
