Ivana Revolver 0 Posted January 3, 2016 Hi folks. I've got two simple questions: 1. Can buckshot be fired from a barrel with a choke? (Remington 870 Express 20 gauge)? If not, why? 2. Can shotgun ammo be resold? For example, if I purchased the wrong gauge ammo, can I sell it at a yard sale, flea market, or another person locally? Thanks in advance for your responses. Vlad G 345 Posted January 3, 2016 1. Can buckshot be fired from a barrel with a choke? (Remington 870 Express 20 gauge)? If not, why? Yes, in fact you want to experiment with various chokes and see which one produces the patterned desired, at various ranges. Be aware that each ammo and each choke will perform differnetly so if you change ammo you will have to re-check. Same is true for slugs, do a point. I wouldn't force slugs through a double extra full choke, but I've found that for me slugs are most accurate somewhere between light modified to improved modified, depending on the slug. Yes, buckshot can be fired from a barrel with a choke. Depending on the choke/ammo/wadding it may have desirable or undesirable effect on the buckshot pattern at different ranges, but you won't harm your firearm/choke or endanger yourself simply by shooting it. 2. Yes, you can re-sell shotgun ammo on a personal basis. There's no restrictions on the personal sale/transportation/possession of shotgun ammo in NJ that I'm aware of. HBecwithFn7 296 Posted January 3, 2016 I've fired 00-buck from a "modified" choke barrel.

Thanks in advance for your responses. Just my thought, but visions of trying to sell at A yard Sale or Flea market would be A bad idea. Nothing wrong with trying to sell it here in the marketplace though.
W2MC 1,699 Posted January 3, 2016 I've fired 00-buck from a "modified" choke barrel. I've found modified to work best with most buckshot, but some do better with full or improved cylinder. Gotta test to see if you like the pattern you are getting. 2. Can shotgun ammo be resold? List it here...most likely *someone* will buy it
Gus 33 Posted January 4, 2016 Yes and yes. I would make sure the person buying the shotgun ammo is at least 18 (just for cover your ass reasons), but other than that no restrictions. As w2mc said. List it here, someone wants it.

mipafox 438 Posted January 4, 2016 Are there restrictions on FTF handgun ammo sales?
DirtyDigz 1,811 Posted January 4, 2016 Are there restrictions on FTF handgun ammo sales? To be completely legal in NJ, the handgun ammo *BUYER* must be 21 or over and have one of the following: FID, Pistol Purchase Permit, or Carry License (and a pet unicorn, both equally probable): 2C:58-3.3 Handgun ammunition defined; sale, purchase, etc a. As used in this act, handgun ammunition means ammunition specifically designed to be used only in a handgun. Handgun ammunition shall not include blank ammunition, air gun pellets, flare gun ammunition, nail gun ammunition, paint ball ammunition, or any non-fixed ammunition. b. No person shall sell, give, transfer, assign or otherwise dispose of, or receive, purchase, or otherwise acquire handgun ammunition unless the purchaser, assignee, donee, receiver or holder is licensed as a manufacturer, wholesaler, or dealer under this chapter or is the holder of and possesses a valid firearms purchaser identification card, a valid copy of a permit to purchase a handgun, or a valid permit to carry a handgun and first exhibits such card or permit to the seller, donor, transferor or assignor. c. No person shall sell, give, transfer, assign or otherwise dispose of handgun ammunition to a person who is under 21 years of age. d.The provisions of this section shall not apply to a collector of firearms or ammunition as curios or relics who purchases, receives, acquires, possesses, or transfers handgun ammunition which is recognized as being historical in nature or of historical significance. e. A person who violates this section shall be guilty of a crime of the fourth degree, except that nothing contained herein shall be construed to prohibit the sale, transfer, assignment or disposition of handgun ammunition to or the purchase, receipt or acceptance of ammunition by a law enforcement agency or law enforcement official for law enforcement purposes. f. Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit the transfer of ammunition for use in a lawfully transferred firearm in accordance with the provisions of section 1 of P.L.1992, c.74 (C.2C:58-3.1), section 1 of P.L.1997, c.375 (C.2C:58-3.2) or section 14 of P.L.1979, c.179 (C.2C:58-6.1). g. Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit the sale of a de minimis amount of handgun ammunition at a firearms range operated by a licensed dealer; a law enforcement agency; a legally recognized military organization; or a rifle or pistol club which has filed a copy of its charter with the superintendent for immediate use at that range. Technically, if you are a resident of NJ, do not have a FID, PPP or carry license, and order handgun ammo from an out-of-state retailer and take possession of it in NJ you have committed a crime.
