Ar-9, who has built, or building them?

Recommended Posts

All speculation until the final product is unveiled. My post was based on looking at my MpX-P and articles on the prvious MPX-c. If you cut the threads the barrel would be less than 16". This is based on the MPX-P proprietary threading. What I've read is the MCX in 5.56 and 300 AAC does not have prop threads so perhaps this won't either.

The stock will need to be "pinned" or fixed so other way. The magazines are another concern. They are proprietary on the pistol and I'd imagine the same for the carbine.

I'm totally confused. On GB there are 16" carbine MPX already... What is getting released after Shot Show then? Are the GB ones for LE only?

Thank you Sir :)

Would CMMG 9mm ramped bolt carrier group work ?

If you are going with a Glock mag compatible build, you would need to ensure that it is machined for the Glock mags.  You can send this to a shop to do but this may be more expensive than buying a Glock compatible bolt carrier.  If you have a mill or are comfortable with a dremel, you can also go that route.

If you are still intending to go with the Glock mag build, I would get a Glock compatible bolt carrier to start with and save the headache unless you get a REALLY good deal on it.

I think I figured this out. The ones out now are 16" INCLUDING the brake. New ones are true 16. So get your FFL to pin the stock and block the mags and you're GTG.

Oh and take care of the flash hider. Farg, forgot that part.

Lower receiver, bolt, capture spring system, trigger group and barrel are JP.

Stock is Battle Arms Development.

Handguard is Midwest Industries.

Upper receiver is Cross Machine Tool.

Magpul grip.

BMC charging handle.

And it will have an Aimpoint PRO

Doesn't have LRBHO... I'm a bit fan boy of JP so I like it but I have to admit that they could have save some material in the front end of the receiver like Angstad Arms did

Awesome. I am looking for a lower without LRBHO because I want to use my new NFA upper with the LRBHO option built in for a 9mm build.

Where did you pick up the lower and, if you don't mind me asking, what did it run ya?

sweet. Very nice looking rifle.

yea I basically trying to figure out if it's better to build it part by part or just buy a complete rifle ...

I wanted to buy the JP GMR13 and I price it up and it was 300 more than I spend on this.
