Personally I don't see so much objective debate being necessary on such a topic. No disrespect to anyone having preference to single point or any other fancy configuration out there. But unless your in combat or some type of tac LEO. A normal 2 point (with QD if desired) is 100% adequate and most functional to anyone bar tacticool being the priority

But everyone can benefit for a quality sling, not just cops and Military. Also, a lot of folks take training classes that require a sling as mandatory equipment. There are many better options than a standard 2 point carry strap that comes with the rifle - which is much less than 100% adequate.

 

Think of a sling as a holster for your long gun (a carry strap is not a sling). If you don't have a sling on a long gun you intend to use for "social events" (HD, SD, SHTF, etc...) you are behind the curve because now all you can do is shoot it or drop it.

 

Having functional gear isn't tacticool.

I had that standard 2 point carry strap previously that comes with it. It sucks and is the reason I wanted a new sling. It's absolutely useless I think.
