VEPR shotgun legal??

Recommended Posts

OK guys, if I bought a VEPR shotgun and had it neutered to the below image, can I get it transfer and have it NJ legal?  My plan would be to keep it at my vacation house out of state.  Any thoughts since I doubt someone in PA will transfer the shotgun to me as stock bc I have NJ license/FOID and its a semi w pistol grip.

Depends on how that nub is construed. NY State doesn't consider it to be a pistol grip but would NJ State police? Who knows really. For myself, there is a line drawn where something cool isn't worth fighting the laws to change and modify and this is an example. But that's just me. VEPR's are sick but I am not sure if it's worth the hassle although it may be for you in which I'd say go for it if it's good to go. I'd say go the Saiga 12 route if you want a semi auto shotgun. Sure, no pistol grip but I shoot one somewhat frequently at the shotgun shootouts and they are a ton of fun.

I agree with R.F. - It really depends upon how the spur is viewed by the AG / SP?

As the statue reads - 'A pistol grip that protruded conspicuously below the action"

There is "something" that is conspicuous below the action - but is the SPUR a PG?

You can contact the NJSP (OR AG's office) with a photo, and ask for a ruling in writing........

Good Luck!
