Polymer 80% Glock frame

Recommended Posts

My feeling is there probably not worth building anyway. Glocks have those thin tabs holding the slide on. If there made out of polymer I don't see them lasting long. Maybe I'm wrong.

From the Spectre FAQ:

Are the rails polymer or metal?  Front Rails are metal, rear rails are polymer (similar to the Ruger pistols)

Fishnut, have you considered a way to mark these receivers? I'm not sure how set your friends shop is. We obviously don't need it unless we choose to sell it but it would be much easier to explain if it's marked in some way with a serial number and place of manufacture.

I'm not personally making one. Just providing a garage shop in PA for some people to work on their frame. I may do one in the future depending on how they turn out. I guess an engraving pen would work to mark a serial number if you wanted one

Like I said no serial number is needed unless you sell it and you can't really sell it. Apparently you can sell if you can prove you shot and used the firearm and didn't just make it to flip it.

There is nothing stopping you from selling a legally marked pistol,as long as it's legal. My concern is being stopped with an unserialized firearm and trying to explain why it lacks a SN. I have serious doubts that most in NJ will understand that firearms don't technically need sn's and they will continue coming back around to the fact that possesion of a firearm with a defaced serial number is a felony despite the fact thats not the actual situation. I hope that makes more sense.

Op has residence outside of nj so he can legally complete gun there and bring back to nj.

That would mean he could legally buy a handgun there as well so it would mean the argument against waiting for pistol permits is a non issue at that point.

Yep, that's why I would stamp a serial on it if I made one.

The frame arrived yesterday.  It looks pretty nice and fairly easy to finish.

It uses Glock lower hardware and their own locking block.

FWIW a good friend and fellow firearms enthusiast lives off the freemansburg Ave exit on 33 in PA. He has a nice shop in his detached garage with every tool imaginable. I have a key to his house and garage. Anyone who is intrested in building one of these let me know and we can set up a build party. I'm already taking one forum member there to build one of these. If I like how it turns out I might build one even though I'm not a glock fan just because I can

Hey Fishnut - is this offer still open?  'Cause I got the unfinished plastic and I'm looking for a place to "manufacture" it.  I'm still collecting all the slide parts I'll need.

General question on serial #'s - can a serial # be engraved on the raw material before it is manufactured into a firearm, or can the serial # only be applied after manufacture?
