  1. i am pretty sure they have to kill the animal to test it and confirm rabies, i think they test the brain tissue. so you would just be saving them some time they should thank you for acting in the best interest of the community. Oh sh!t wait this is NJ never mind.
  2. GunNRose do you know of any ranges near you? I like to try new ranges and i also have a 617 6" (it is a great gun) if you can not make it to BA on tuesday, maybe you can post some info like range location and fees i may be able to take the ride down.

    Open carry in pa

When I was waiting for my permits I called the state police and asked them about this question of going in to PA. The answer they gave me was, as long as your firearms are unloaded , in the trunk or locked box in the cab, if the ammo is in the cab it needs to be in a separate locked box NOT IN THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT . You are legal to transport to and from where ever you are going to shoot. This includes entering and leaving the state. But they made a point to say this only applies when you are in NJ when you cross the state line out of NJ you need to obey the laws in that state. So the law says
  4. I just joined range 14 yesterday it was the first time I was ever there I got there about 2pm left at 4pm. It was nice to shoot outside and it was HOT. I thought the time between cease fires was good, next time I will bring more targets. I also go to BA allot and shooting paper dose get old sometimes but I can check them whenever I want and the hours are better. I like both ranges and would probably like Central jersey too. I just can't afford to join there this year maybe next summer. I grew up in Jackson and never knew the place existed would love see what it's like
  5. I think it depends on the circumstances I rack the slide slowly if the reason I am UN loading is due to a suspected malfunction. I shoot a lot of .22 so duds are common and I like to see what
  6. I'm not a pilot nor have I ever taken a course, but it was my understanding that small fixed wingers are not required to even have a radio. Is this correct? I took some helicopter flight lesson but I am far from having a license. I could be wrong but I thinks all aircraft have radios a lot of small airports use radio traffic to activate the runway lights automatically. 3 clicks on the mic turn them on and stuff like that.
  7. I would also keep a marker and a roll of masking tape to help get more use out of your targets John
  8. Hey i saw these a few weeks ago and i thought you may be interested. i think this video is very well done and great safety tips it's kind of long but i liked it. Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
  9. I bought a pack of the plastic snap caps from Cheyenne Mountain Outfitters for like $10 it came with 12 red snap caps I use them in my girlfriends S&W 617 revolver for dry fire practice all the time with no issues. when I got my Browning Buckmark I took one of the extras and tried it an after a few trigger pulls I notices a very distinct firing pin mark forming in the snap cap. It seems the Buckmark firing pin hits allot harder than the S&W revolver dose. I still use the caps in the revlover but I use spent brass in the Buckmark. John
  10. sorry officer didn't mean to offend you and i didn't know there was a time limit on this thread. i just read this post today so it's all new to me. and i thinks that state trooper should be fired for "totalabuse" of power
  11. I'm not saying I'm right. I'm saying that I see something different than you. That is all. i aggree, you are wrong and if this situation happened to you and you are the cop hopefully you have learned from his mistake and you will put human life above your ego and do the right thing
  12. it the only ammo you find there until you get your Glock then they will be out of thet too  are you apposed to a full size .40 s&w
  13. Maybe if more of the citizens that live in Jersey city had CCW permits the crime rate would not be as high and the cops would not refer to that street as smack ally. And this tragedy may not have happened. I think just having a Jersey city address should be good enough to get a CCW... or Trenton, or camden, or newark .... and the list goes on.
  14. with the new requirements.... fbi checks, backgrounds, refrences, and to top it all off 1 officer typically is responsible for all of the permits and FId....... and oh yeah, they typically have other stuff to do... like investigate crimes and stuff. it does suck though. I mean you can sue the town by all means, and you will win the legal battle.... but is it worth it? the 30 day thing is highly difficult to observe. its like if you own a business to repair widgets... and you promise 24 hour return time.... you are the only employee, and all of the sudden you get a surge of repairs. I really do understand it from both sides. Just because they have other stuff to do is not my problem. Cops never seem to care that I have other stuff to do when I am running late and drive a little too fast. Or when I don
  15. Same here in Hamilton i went in to the PD a week before the date on the permit and the girl just typed in a new date and initialed it took 2 mins.
